    I'm looking at May 17th after the Mariner's game to see if any significant trends have developed for this roster, and those that will carry through the season. That should be 44 games, more than 25% of the year. Questions to be considered: 1. When might Duvall return, along with Story ( May , June or July) 2. Did Casas find his way to improve, or will Chaim be shopping for 1B 3. Is the relief pitching holding up strong , are the starters effective and going 6 innings ? Is Paxton any factor at all.\ 4. Can Chang be a FT SS on a winning team? 5. Has Yoshi become a plus WAR steady contributor ? 6. Have any current regulars been injured ? I'm sure there are many more to think about.

    Cheap joke: Hope you're not wong about that . Connor probably could be a decent backup and late inning defensive guy , if needed.

    A prime time catcher a la Varitek, Fisk, Sammy White would be a major addition to this roster . We complain about the lack of player development by Boston for pitching , but how about catcher ? Vazquez was suitable but not in the same category as the aforementioned.

    A key game for Sale to see if he can resume and continue his most recent excellent, effective outing. No reversion to the mean for him . A win over the Orioles in Camden Yards with a strong performance by Sale would be seriously encouraging.

    Good point , and the reason why W-L's for pitchers is not a meaningful stat. It's really a correlation of run scoring and effective 5-7 innings by the starter .
