  1. What is his C ERA, MVP . I know you are a believer, lol Oh NOOOOO, McGuire is catching Jansen for the save. Is there no justice ?
  2. I am fully counting on the win today, but we continue to burn the BP for 5 innings a game. That's survivable for maybe a month but not for a 162 gamer
  3. Not exactly, more like HoT, Hall of Taiwan
  4. Stat building time for Devers. Before today's game Verdugo actually led Devers on the list of top 50 AL hitters by BA, but Rafi's OPS exceeded 1.000
  5. Just think guys, we could always have Angels pitching
  6. If I were Yu, I'd hang up the spikes after today.
  7. Ohtani has also expressed that he wants to play on a championship level team . Could be Giants or Dodgers or the new evil empire, San Diego Padres
  8. Who knew YU ? Wakes up today to give the Sox and Jansen the lead
  9. Shohei has all but said he will only play on the west coast. His car is Dodger Blue
  10. Wong and Chang make me think it is Shun Yen again. Killer Duo. Until bottom 6 when they both revert to their own means
  11. Neto works an 8 pitch ground out in his first MLB AB, never swinging at a ball out of the zone.
  12. Bulletin Flash: Arroyo popped out, the King of Pops strikes fear into all infielders on a sunny day
  13. He did not play yesterday and may be held back until there is a RH reliever for LAA today.
  14. You hate to rely on only about 3 guys in the lineup but Devers, Dugo and ??? need to carry this team. Probably veteran hitter Turner
  15. Thanks. The ultimate TalkSox error, being a winner and no follow up. I sincerely hope Jad is OK. Unfortunately the same cannot be wished for dog ass Pivetta giving an ex-Yankee the gift of 4 rbi's
  16. If Jad has posted today's game thread (55 min away) , this post would be more relevant. Angels have called up and will be starting their top pick , Zach Neto , from the 2022 draft ( #13 overall) to play SS full time, sending longtime vet David Fletcher to their Salt Lake AAA Bees. Neto has played a little over 40 games for the Rocket City Trash Pandas in AA. Neto's promotion settles the question once and for all as to how long you should expect a draftee to linger in the minors before ascending to a key starting position. Out of consideration for Zach's youth, he will bat 8th vs our own Nick Pivetta who will school him but good.
  17. Saw him at Hotel California just down the road last night.
  18. So your saying we picked up a game on them
  19. Hey guys, that was actually a win, pretty sloppy on the Angels side, but our pitching held a Red Sox equivalent team in check and beat them.
  20. I would offer that the Sox with Bogey and Betts, not Bacall, would be significantly better. BUT, the deal that Bogaerts got from Padres does not make good sense. Counting on Story to be the guy at SS was a cheaper way to plug the hole when signed in 2022, but Trevor fooled them with the old rag arm joke. In December, when Story's elbow issue came up i would have signed one of the remaining FA true SS's to a a market deal and counted on Story's return to solidify 2nd base. Betts deal from LAD could be justified based on age, and possibly giving him a 5 year opt out.
  21. Hugh, what is your take on Winckowski trying to go beyond 2 innings. I'm sure he is physically capable but some relievers do not do well beyond 2.
  22. As mentioned a few times, I live about 50 miles from Anaheim and get all the Angels ( & Dodgers) local TV sports/radio, etc and can confirm to you that there has been a lot of press on the poor defense by the Angels
  23. Angels D continues to help. 2 HBP's and a 2 out error result in a run. Didn't see that in Tampa.
  24. Time out for a bulletin : This just in, Yu Changs has changed the dynamic of his OBP when he got hit by a pitch, in lieu of the conventional batter hitting the pitch . Chang's OBP and still same OPS is now .125
  25. Casas AB #3 : Takes strike 1 ; chases outside the zone and fouls away ; reaches further outside the zone for a pop to 3rd base side. Not exactly the same outcome as the prior 2 K s but very similar sequence. People who actually pitch ( or scout) in MLB have seen this guy and are eating him up with the same stuff and he has not adjusted. Fatse needs to tell him to swing at the first pitch strike to break the routine
