  1. Story paying no attention to advice continues to overpull every swing and can't buy a hit. Very basic change , Trevor, is needed. Try going up the middle because you have not got a wall ball in you right now
  2. Machado made a nice play on Durbins hard hit grounder to limit a rally opportunity, but Durbin playing well off the line with 2 on could come close to Fermin's ground ball double, allowing the lead run. Beginning to wonder, Bres
  3. Early dodging bullets, may be done after 3 with 80 pitches . Showing nothing special and may be holding back on a cold day in Fenway
  4. Interesting AB by Mayer to get the sac fly and tying run. Tales 2 strikes, one of which was a middle-middle, then hits a 390' flyball when Vazquez fails to exploit the near rookie by giving him another cookie FB. Marcello gets the job done.
  5. Getting late for Early with 47 pitches through 2 innings. Making it a bullpen game if he doesn't get a quick 3rd/4th. However, he escapes a big inning only giving up 1 run and K'ing Tatis.
  6. May as well pile on Cora's misaligned lineup. Top 3 batters, no hitters yet, take only 9 pitches to give up 3 outs. Anthony may not be the best choice at leadoff as he tries, often, to hit the first pitch which by itself is not a bad idea for the batter, but not productive to see an unfamiliar pitcher like Vazquez. Story is still lost at #2, and may be in that role just to break up the left handed string of Anthony/Duran. Abreu should be there now but that would be 3 consecutive LH batters. Duran batting 3rd, probably should go back to leadoff, switching with Anthony, who can then continue his pursuit of Ted William's record from the sacred LF/#3 hitter position
  7. An essential win well done ! Almost predictable but reinforces my thought that the 6 game road trips to open the season are a negative for ST weary Sox players. Got away with missing Whitlock
  8. Now that Durbin finally got his 1 hit, and an RBI, maybe now he could focus on the strike zone and swing at pitches located therein. A general comment about hitting is that the Sox are not showing much plate discipline and are free swinging, leading to mucho K's.
  9. Bogaert's contract , even worse than Yoshi's , made no sense whatsoever . SD will be paying that bill for a long time with no meaningful return.
  10. Simple solution to Story's current negative run at the plate, he is reaching for pitches well across the outer half and trying to pull them. If he simply tried contact where the ball is travelling he would improve immensely. He should be batting #2 in no known universe, That is on Cora, the player's manager
  11. Anthony's late HR is sign that anything is possible. But a 1-5 start including a Crochet loss does not warm the heart. Story is becoming a real issue as are today's 13 K's. This team is a 40%++ K machine
  12. Even Whitlock cannot escape this cursed game. He gets 2 quick outs and has Smith down to 2 strikes with only about 8 pitches.. Smith then extends Whitlock to 14 pitches before blooping a single, followed by 2 more walks to load the bases. Finally gets to 37 pitches before getting a called 3rd strike on old friend Christian Vazquez. Whitlock will now need 2 days to recover. The real irony is that the 14 pitch sequence to Smith showed Garret did not have a killer OUT pitch available.
  13. The joke is that the Astros have given up only one fewer than the Sox, BUT only one of those 10 to a Redf Sox hitter, Rafaela who oppo fielded a fly ball just over the leaping glove of the Rf'er
  14. 2026 Red Sox. The 1990 Pats haven't had the last 36 years to build a team like these Sox
  15. Story has fallen off the turnip truck, Durbin is inexplicable, Yoshida batting Japanese Zero but walking some, Wong giving them all the finger and laughing
  16. The harsh reality is that this this bit of a slump and season high losing streak actually started back in Florida and has not changed very much since. Some may not like it but you do tend to play like you practice.
  17. Just wait a day or two. The real season hasn't started yet , just now finishing ST working on a few things , giving a couple 20 year olds a rest day to calm their vacant minds. Once back in Fenway , everything will be great.
  18. Very true but the other case of 1-161 is possible , so we will never find out if Chapman's 2025 season was a fluke or not.
  19. Anthony working hard on the golden sombrero tonight. May as well get it and reload tomorrow, Romy !Q Anybody heard how Mr. Casas is doing on his rehab? Just wondering
  20. Bello may be a nice "feller" in the clubhouse, but he is strictly a filler on the mound. He fills up the zone except with 2 outs when he walks batters, then goes Ka-Boom . This guy is not my favorite . He definitely needs to show some maturity this year as a pitcher , just isn't going to happen tonight.
  21. Much credit to the much maligned Connor Wong's batting prowess for showing the rest of the snoozers how to get it done. Nice double and run by Mayer who worked a walk .
