This is a no pressure series for the Sox. They are underdogs and are on the road. No one outside of their clubhouse and diehard fans expect them to win. I hope they win but, aside from the grief I will get from an obnoxious Yankee fan I know, I won't be disappointed if they don't. They accomplished a lot this year and better years are coming with the young players they have. Plus, winning in 04, 07, 13 and 18 took all the pressure off any subsequent years.
I am so glad that the Red Sox finally realized that Whitlock is electric in the bullpen but only mediocre and injury prone as a starter. It was a stupid decision to try to make him a starter, even if he was asking for it. They set him up to fail but at least they admitted the mistake and righted it. They would not be in the playoffs without him in his current 8th inning role.
How in the world do you know what he said to the umpire? He obviously said some magic words. He knew he wasn't batting again anyway and he didn't want to face Crochet again. He got tossed on purpose just like Norman Dale did.
Crochet leads Skubal in every pitching category except ERA and that's close. Crochet should win the Cy Young. He is dominant. Skubal just lost an important game yesterday against Cleveland and looked bad doing it.
Why do you hate Cedanne so much? He is going to win a gold golve this year, he can play multiple positions, he is young, has a very team favorable contract and is an improving hitter. Better get used to him being the center fielder for the next 8-10 years.
