  1. Hendriks, Sandoval, Buehler, Giolito and Campbell were all terrible deals. 150 million down the drain. Chapman deal was great. Gray and Contreras trades were very good. Suarez signing is good, I think. Crochet trade was good. Bello (to some extent) and Rafaela extensions were good. Anthony's extension may work out but he has to stay on the field and get much tougher.
  2. 2028 will have over 41 million freed up from Story and Yoshida. Thank goodness.
  3. We can talk all about next season but there is a very good chance that there is no next season. The owners want a salary cap. Baseball needs a salary cap. The players do not want a salary cap since they have been making millions because of stupid owners paying outlandish salaries to bums. There WILL be a lockout and it will be long. Better find something to do next summer.
  4. Yes, he still can be a great player but he has to stay healthy. As Bill Belichick said, "The greatest ability is availability".
  5. He also formerly played for Cincy
  6. St. Louis and Cincy are both close to Tennessee. Ideal spots for him. Low pressure cities that don't criticize players like the Boston press.
  7. I said take a long look at him. I didn't say they have to marry him. Maybe he makes a comeback, maybe not. Doesn't cost them anything to look.
  8. The Sox lineup was not good enough to beat Schlittler or Fried so Contreras' defense had little to do with the loss. You have to be able to score 4-6 runs in a playoff game to win unless you have Bob Gibson pitching for you.
  9. Gray is not coming back after last night unless they completely overpay him, which we know they won't. He is a midwest guy. I could see him going back to the Reds or Cardinals. The lineup just doesn't have one bat that teams fear which is where the Sox really blew it by not signing Alonso. There isn't a FA bat like that out there this off season. Next year is going to be just like this year. 85-88 wins, a wild card, and an early exit. Maybe when Story and Yoshida are off the books they can spend on some bats. I hate to say it but they have to give Casas a long look in ST. Power bats are hard to find and he could hit 30 if he gets his head out of his a$$.
  10. Someone has to come through don't they?
  11. Rodney wasn't doing it because of a transmitter. They didn't have them then. He looked stupid. Its just a bad look.
  12. One thing I like about the NFL is they have a uniform policy. Strickly enforced. Guys wearing their hats crooked (yes Sonny too) is an embarassment to the game. Put the hat on straight like it is meant to be worn.
  13. I hope Sonny can keep the Sox in the game. Fried isn't Schlittler.
  14. .205 against lefties since August 1
  15. How do you take that pitch. Idiot.
  16. Anthony RIzzo roots for the Yankees. Still mad that the Red Sox traded him even though it was good for him to get to play.
  17. And Owen Hull is not going from Class A to the majors! LOL!!
  18. If Mayer was in the deal, they could have kept Meidroth and Teel.
  19. Do you think the Reds are stupid???
  20. If Mead is healthy enough to be on the roster, he is healthy enough to be in the lineup. They gave up a lot to get him, no one else is hitting. Why not?
  21. Anthony won't play again this season. t
