    Agreed, yet I want him in the AAA rotation, the upside is too good and the payoff would be what's best for him and the team (beyond 2026)

    The Red Sox are going to do what's best for Tolle, he starts next year in AAA to work on his secondaries. That's not to say that he may not end up back in the pen, but they're going to give him 2026 to see if he can be a starter.

    They're almost certainly 100% not starting TOlle in the pen, he's arguably their #1 prospect and one step away from developing into a legit #2 starter. He moved to the pen for the playoffs and while he could find his way back there at some point he's a starter in 2026. I think you're right about him startin the rotation in AAA, if he performs well he will find his way up eventually either thru injury or giving someone the boot.

    If a team only used Bregmans 3.5 WAR and factored in 3% inflation he's worth $29 million a year next year. If inflation rises to what it was the year prior he's worth about 30.25. I sitll don't see him getting more than 4-5 years. But why wouldn't he bank even an extra 20-30 million if he could? I would.

    I love how we all determine what someones is worth. We don't have billions of dollars, we are not the market. An asset is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. Bregman was worth about $28 million dollars last year according to the market. Although, I guess we could say he was worth $40 mil but ya'll know what I mean.

    I wouldn't go above 4/120 for him and that would have me feeling really uneasy too. That would give him the same money he signed up for last year plus the $40 mil he already got. He's going to be 32 next year, he's at that age where he can literally fall off a cliff any year.

    Yeah, that's what's happening. Honestly I won't be surprised if he's a complete dud or he turns into a late inning reliever next year. It all depends on how effective they're with tinkering with his stuff this offseason. Stuff seems fine, it's the control. They see something they think they can fix.....they either can or they can't.

    I think he's going to be penciled in as the 4th/5th. Now, If he looks god awful in spring training that could very well change. And if it looks bad as the season progresses, I hope they pull the plug a little sooner than they did with Buehler.

    I don't have a good answer for you Red, you'd have to ask the Boston Red Sox. Just by going by what they said when he was signed an all that, if he's healthy, and baring something ugly I think they're going to give him a crack at the rotation.

    I mean, I can get that perspective when talking about a specific player, but when they're generally talking about how the organization is much quicker to promote guys, especially pitchers in the game who are performing I think they're just making an observation.

    I don't think I'm being unreasonable. I'm not predicting Perales is going to pitch in Boston next year, if I HAD TO BET ON IT??? I'd certainly wager that he does not. But he's arguably the most exciting pitching prospect we have in the system in terms of pure stuff and there's a reason why Soxprospects have kept him so high in their rankings. I wouldn't say anyone pitched great or not great in 1.1 innings. but 101 MPH is 101 MPH. What I AM saying is if he has a good season he's going to fly up the system. To say a top prospect might click, and if said top prospect does click they will move up the system is very reasonable. I get you're skeptical, as you should be. Pitching prospects will break your heart.

    No they weren't, they also weren't advocating him moving to the pen permanently. But It's obviously a testament to how high they are on him.

    SP was also making the argument for him pitching in Boston this year. That's how high they are on him. I'm certain they would agree that if he looks good when he comes back that he's going to fly thru the system.

    They definitely wanted to offload that contract and I think they thought Raffy was becoming a cancer to the team (certianly the F.O. shoulders some blame for that). I do think they like Harrison. Here is a guy who was a top 100 prospect just a year prior and still just 23 years old. I think the Sox like his stuff and think they can tinker with him and figure it out. If they do that and he's legit next year.....that's pretty much Quinn Preister, who is 1 year older than Harrison, a top 100 prospect, and struggling before he put it all together last year.

    While I certainly want to see more trades that are going to improve the big league club next season, I would certianly welcome a move that strengthens the catching depth at the top of the system.

    Without a doubt the Giants were sour on him, 100%. Still, I don't think you take on that money if you don't somewhat believe in his arm. Or maybe they just really really like Harrison that much?

    Sox need to sign or trade for a good pitcher this offseason. If some of those other guys take the 5th spot great, if they work their way up to Boston and stick in the rotation, great. As we've learned this past season.......you can have all the depth in the world and it's still not enough pitching.

    Maybe, I'm hopeful of just that. Yet I'm still very concerned by the depth in the system. What is Naraez? does he take a step forward or a step backwards? The system is really feeling drop off from dealing away a guy like Teel, but......I'm certainly NOT going to complain about that one.

    18% is certainly reasonable. I do wonder how much that goes up when he comes to USA. It's been said that the K rate goes up 5-6% which I decided to lazely studied this morning and appears to be BS. Some players K rate moves much higher or not at all (Ichiro Suzuki). Seiya Suzuki saw his K rate jump over 50% if we see that in Okamoto he'd have a K rate around 30%. That might be too high for him to tap into his power. He concerns me, but yet I'm intrigued still.

    I never thought I'd be rooting for the Seattle Mariners.....but here we all are cheering with Harmony. Get it....eh ehhhhhh?
