  1. I still think that's a weird way of looking at things. What if the "Con man" doesn't outperform Alonso but it's close, he plays above average defense, hits for average with 20 bombs. Meanwhile Alonso hits 40 HR's and that's it, but the Red Sox spent half the AAV on Contreras and also went out and got a #2 and improved their bench? I'm not trying to say that the Alonso is better than Contreras, but if the team is better as a whole and they win 95 games are we really going to sit here and criticize the team because Pete Alonso hit 40 HR's in Baltimore?
  2. Probably Mayer, I think he plays third, or at least a lot of third. Durbin to 2B
  3. And I love how we also are getting the 67th pick in the MLB draft this year as well, on top of Durbin. It's not just the pick, but it's the $1.3 million that comes with it. They can go with another pick there, or spread that money in another round.
  4. That's just the thing, you can have beef with the Devers trade, you can hate that trade and recall it for as the long as ones little heart desires. But Durbin for Harrison should be evaluated based on the performances of Durbin for Harrison. And them too alone.
  5. So, if Kyle Harrison gets 0 WAR and Durbin gets 12 WAR it's a bad trade if they never replace Devers? So they trade Harrison for Durbin, and it can't be a good trade even if Durbin drastically outperforms Harrison? Make it make sense.
  6. Yeah, I was very surprised to get that draft pick back on top of everything else. The Brewers are very good at taking guys like Harrison and getting them right E.G. Quinn Priester. So we will see, it might not look as good later this year but at the end of the day I'm glad they made this trade. No regrets, it really sets the team for 2026. I obviously would have preferred someone with a little bit more upside than Durbin, but given the other moves they've made on top of this one it sets my mind at ease and has me excited for the season.
  7. What if Devers performs 3X better than Durbin for the next several years but Durbin averages 2 WAR and Harrison never makes another MLB start/appearance. Is that a good trade?
  8. Thats actually a cheap contract for the value he produces. How much is a good utility player worth? $6 million isn’t even 1 war
  9. The other candidate would be top prospect Bryce Eldridge, who is expected to be a monster with the bat......but plays 1B for a reason. One will play 1B, one will DH. It's kind of ironic.......Raffy is going into SF spring training and it's unclear whether he will play 1B or DH.
  10. Who is going to play 1B for the Giants this year then?
  11. Wouldn't it also be fair to point out that Raffy is doing it all while playing 1b too???
  12. I think he might platoon and get a lot of at bats when Mayer sits vs. LHP. BTW....Where is Moon. I owe him an apology on this one.
  13. Can we please stop with the Devers talk, it's essentially rehashing the Devers trade when this is something entirely different. That trade is over, it's been over, whatever we did or did not get is a sunk cost. This trade should be evaluated on the players involved and them alone. That is a honest accounting.
  14. Lets see all the people complaining about giving up Kyle Harrison now. If you're not complaining about giving him up now, I don't want to see you bitching if Milwaukee turns him into a stud.
  15. yeah, he could if he wants to pay the price of admission.
  16. https://prospectsavant.com/player/807713 His milb numbers look much better. He was a newbie, he's young. I'd be much more concerned if it continues.
  17. I mean, I get it, but is that worth having a black hole in the infield?
  18. That's pretty close in value, a slight underpay according to BTV. But I wouldn't hate that.
  19. For years we always heard and regurgitated the Mantra "we can trade hitting for pitching, we can trade hitting for pitching" And I believed in that. So shouldn't it also be true that we can trade pitching for hitting? If it takes one of Tolle/Early to get a solid infielder then so be it. We will still have one of those guys + Harrison, Crawford, Bennett, Witherspoon, Valera, Phillips, Eyanson + The pitching in the organization will be fine, go out and get a guy. The big league club desperately needs it.
  20. I really really like Early a lot, but if the Sox open the season with IKF as the starting 2nd baseman it' comes to light that Sox were unwilling to give up Early.....he better turn into a solid #2 or higher.
  21. I mean.....trying to F**K your bosses wife is going to get you fired from most places.
  22. If Rodgers was signed to be the starting 2Bman, why didn't they sign him to a MLB contract?
  23. $6 million is bench bat money, Rogers is playing in AAA.
  24. You seem like a cool dude Drewski. i love your take on Christmas present giving 😂😂😂
