  1. He's a gold glove defender in CF and from what iv'e seen and read he's average at second base. This would be the move to make if he was an offensive juggernaut, but considering his value is almost entirely tied up in his glove it makes zero sense to move him to CF. People get obsessed with thinking there's a silver bullet to every problem but the reality is you can't make chicken out of chicken s***; re-arranging the deck is pointless on this team. Unless they start learning to hit again the season is lost.
  2. If they fire Breslow, who the hell would ever take this job? I think of it like this, I’m not going to work for you if I can see your company is crap, the product is horrible, and the last 3 guys were fired after only a few years and scapegoated. If Breslow goes, Sox will have to either pay insane premiums to bring in a quality guy (and that might not be enough) or hire from within
  3. Haven’t been posting for a while because work has been about as crazy as it’s ever been for me and honestly, this Sox team has just been depressing. ive been a supporter of both Breslow and Cora in the past, and while im starting to sour on Breslow I don’t think Cora is to blame. You can’t make chicken soup out of chicken s***; Cora was handed a flawed roster and everyone has underperformed. I’m not sure any manager in existence could of done much better. What is 100% the most disappointing here is ownership. They’re scapegoating the coaching staff but it’s their roster and it’s Henry’s money. i get what Henry has done for this team and you can’t never take that away. But this is not the same John Henry, unless the ghost of John Henry past starts possessing his body this will not change. They can fire all the coaches, they can fire Breslow and bring in the next guy and that next guy will also swing and miss on the Sotos, the Alonso’s, and the Bregmans just the same because at the end of the day…..it all comes down to John Henry. edit: despite those feelings on not faulting Cora, I’m not whole heartedly against the shake up. I’m just very dissatisfied at the conditions and the actors who all played a role in it coming to this.
  4. The Madstork has arrived, the season has officially begun.
  5. Yeah but is that a slump? it's only been a few games. I wouldn't call that a slump i'd call it a small sample size.
  6. The despair of a crappy start to the season is always somewhat mitigated by the insanely hilarious way too early hot takes.
  7. You won't be happy if he has a .769 OPS come September
  8. Ohtani is 1-8 M. Betts is 2-11 Bo Bichette is 1-14 Aaron Judge is 2-13 Julio Rodriguez is 1-15 People it's still March. Why do we do this to ourselves every single year?
  9. Early surely would have hit 100 pitches if they left him out there and it's still March. Weissert had also had an excellent spring. Hindsight is 20/20 folks. ANYWHOOOOOOOOO This guy right here has tickets to opening day at Fenway this upcoming Friday.
  10. Yeah, I figured this was coming. What a crappy way to lose a series. Still, it's March so..... Lets see were Suarez and Durbin are at by the end of the year. Abreu looks good, heck Mayer looks pretty good. I'm pretty sure Duran and Anthony are going to be fine, if Story gets going I think they offense will actually be fine.
  11. Lets hope for a win today, take the series. You win every series or most you're a 95+ win playoff team.
  12. I think Story made up for his misplay with a HR too, but it still was very frustrating to watch, especially considering how this team is suppose to be all about "pitching and defense"
  13. I'll take Durans second greatest season of all time over TCC.
  14. Duran is my darkhorse candidate to hit 30 HR's this year.
  15. Anthony with the go ahead home run and Whitlock mowing down the heart of the order in the 8th. Sox fingerprints all over that victory
  16. I’m all for upgrading catcher, but given the injuries Wong was battling last year why shouldn’t expect a 2026 healthy Wong to look more like he did in 2024? That would be better than anything that’s on the market right now and a really good 2nd catcher. it would be more encouraging if he was having a better spring, but I expect Wong to bounce back in 2026.
  17. And Masa....what are we going to do with all these power hitters????
  18. Sox have been well represented in the WBC, Anthony and Duran looking good. Even Bello looked good and Whitlock has been good out of the pen. I know it's ST, but it's nice to see.
  19. Campbell hear us talking s*** and decided to hit a homerun
  20. I'm actually probably higher on him than most and I'm encouraged that his swinging a faster bat now. I believe with consistency that will translate to in game production. But I think he's going to need at least a 1/2 a year in the minors before he breaks thru if he breaks thru. He might end up being fine and worth every penny in the long run, but the Sox certainly jumped the gun in giving him that extension. They should of waited.
  21. He's still 1 whole year younger than Duran was before he made his debut, 3 years younger than he was before it took him to become a viable MLBer. He's young, I'm still hopeful he can be an impactful everyday player.
  22. I'm not getting too worked up over spring training, Campbell looks a ton better this year if you're looking under the hood. His swing is better, his exit velocity is creeping back up and it's just spring training. But I do think he needs substantial time in AAA, even if he's hitting, let him have some sustained success for a while, he's still just 23 years old.
  23. If Godbout takes to the Sox bat speed program I think you could be right, but in the absence of that I'm not sure his poor bat speed is going to translate to the major league level, he might not be anything more than a slap hitter. Arias has a good hit tool too but same questions around his power potential. At 20 years old, and two full years younger than Godbout I'd say there's a better chance that Arias is going to grow, fill out, and add size more than Godbout will. I'm not saying Godbout isn't going to add strength (which isn't the same exact thing as size) just that Arias has more room to fill out. They both might rise to that challenge. IF they both do solve these issues, I think I'm going with Arias because he has a much higher defensive ceiling.
  24. Maybe, maybe not. They want Campbell getting regular at bats, Eaton is filling a utility role. Apples to oranges.
