  1. 40 man is full, not sure why they’d protect someone only to DFA to make room for a guy when they could have just protected someone like Ward instead of said player.
  2. Why not so the past 6?
  3. Are we really counting 2020 as a season though? And if we did, I don’t think anyone would ever blame Bloom for that. 1. It was his first year. 2. He was mandated with shedding payroll and told to trade Betts/Benitendi/Price. 3. We played about 1/3 of a season 4. It was a weird Covid year and guys opted out and didn’t play. I think it’s fair to throw that year out and say he’s 1/2. With little budgets, this is the year that should make or break him.
  4. I made the mistake of weighin myself today and I'm sure it's mostly water weight but I'm easily 10 lbs heavier today. In my defense, I just HAD to have at least one piece of every aunt's pie and I might have had two slices of the PEE-CAN pie.
  5. Many diseases evolve to become less deadly, that's probably what we see and between that and Vaccines Covid likely just becomes a yearly illness we have to deal with like the flu every year.
  6. Story is getting paid less than 1/2 of Seager as well. If Story didn’t get hurt he probably would have put up equal value. Sox also had a guy called Bogaerts at SS, they needed a 2nD not a SS last year. Not going after Seager is a new one. Haven’t heard that one yet
  7. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I’m thankful to be part of the best fan base in baseball.
  8. Part of the problem is the media, moves like these always happened and always will. But 20 years ago you never heard about them, but not today.
  9. Does this include “lack” of free agency spending? Which to be fair, with the amount of money coming off the books I don’t think anyone could be blamed for complaining about lack of spending this year.
  10. You know how this progresses right? I know you do. A few names will fall off the board. Someone will sign 1-2 of the big short stops, or DeGrom or Judge will come off the board and people will start crying for the end of the world. Ironically half these people would be complaining we spent too much money if we were the ones to make that deal
  11. Non of those guys were top 25, Anderson was the best and he’s the only one. The other two are resigning technically. You can throw Rizzo in there too. But that’s it. Nothing, nada, nunca. People are complaining over nothing, or at the very least prematurely about this off-season.
  12. Here’s another thing I keep thinking about. Who has signed? Not one major free agent signing so far, and not really even any mid level moves. All the top free agents are still on the board. EVERY SINGLE ONE. If Bloom signed guys like Verlander and Bogaerts and Judge and went nuts and THEN made these moves would people be angry? It feels like they’re upset about the timing. Which given where we are at in the off-season is the dumbest effing thing ever
  13. They will release Brazier before giving up on a lefty who can throw heat. They don’t grow on trees. He’s going to be elite if he ever figures it out.
  14. I think this was a case of the Sox jumping the que to make sure they got their guy on rule 5 draft day. 40th man move. Maybe they see promise in his swing and at the very least something to replace Jeter Down who I think they’re about to give up on
  15. Although to be fair Rafaela took 10k and Bello 28k
  16. But he’s “very promising” 10k worth of promise
  17. Isn’t it amazing how people with no love for the farm and zero prospect acumen can all of a sudden find a teenager close to a decade away from the majors who got 10k playing in a different continent valuable.
  18. I’m sorry, how much are you paying a 6th inning pitcher? Btw his era is roughly league average. Saying he sucks is a massive stretch. Not surprisingly
  19. Hahaha, I have to admit, this one really made me laugh a little touché.
  20. Oh HOY the fun keeps on rolling in today. So much to be thankful for.
  21. That’s about a league average ERA but the underlying metrics are better. He generates swings and misses and batters don’t hit him hard. He’s a tweak of his control away from being an elite reliever, and I’d not he’s a decent 6th inning guy. Either or makes the team better. It’s a good low risk high upside move. Every team makes moves like this, bullpens are so Volatile year to year many elite relievers fit this mold before they figure out. Sox did it with Andrew Miller, maybe they can do it again. He’s costing 1.5 million. What do y’all expect a middle reliever to get paid. That’s a bargain.
  22. I think he was listed somewhere as a NT candidate so some people caught it stuck in their heads he wasn't that good. He's a good but not great player, JBJ's continued regression and the prospects sucking made it look really really bad. Bloom has received a lot of unjust criticism around here and in Boston.....But this trade is not part of that.
  23. Who says he can’t stand the heat? Here is apparently still making moves pissing off the base on November 23rd
  24. I mean look, if these are the only types of moves Bloom makes and he doesn’t sign another relieve or two (one of them being reliable and proven) a couple proven starter, and Star SS I’ll stand with all the Bloom haters calling for his head. But I expect those moves to be made, which is why I don’t mind and dare I say I like low risk high reward at the bottom of the roster like this.
  25. I think it’s funny how people get all hot and bothered over every tiny move. There are others bothered right now because the Sox Signed a minor leaguer. Like….you realize Bello is going to be a good MLB pitcher (finally) someone has to catch his fly balls and field his grounders in the minors coming up.
