I hope Wright and E-Rod are ready when ST is over. They are know sure bet. My happy dream has turned bad. We will watch Henry Owens pitch every 5th day. He is already getting lit up as is. My rant is over.

Anytime you visit Dr. Andrews its never a good thing. I'm very concerned. The old saying goes you can never have enough pitching. It all gets sorted out in the end. it makes the Sale trade even more BIG.

I still worry about the pen. The third base and catching spots kind of scare me a little. With Ortiz not being there DP will be the captain and take the leadership role of this team. So I also worry about that type of stuff as well. With Wright not throwing unit 2/20 is not a good sign. His injury is a mystery. They will hit enough. The verdict is a 93\95 win team. If they can stay healthy which is always a big concern.

Please keep in mind. The team starting in April will not be the same team côme September/ October.

I get your logic. Let's always be wise. Leon could be a three month wonder. Vaz struggled last year. He also was sent down, I think triple AAA. Ryan H is gone as well. He should be. Holliday spelling his name wrong, who cares though, is gone. The Red Sox farm system took a hit from all trades DD made. The Mets have said they are not moving any of their young pitching. They could be lying. So we will take them at face value. They would like Grandy man gone as John Sterling called him or Bruce gone. I doubt the sox have any interest in the both of them IMO. The teams don't match up. They aren't taking on any money both teams. So if they trade Bradley just so they can make Beni a CF You get weak with D and the O he provides when he goes on a streak. Of course he can get injured behind the plate. I would rather see him injured behind the plate over LF. They tried Ramirez in LF . It didn't work. DD held Swihart out of most trade talks. IMO IT was for lack of C not OF. I think catching is more of a need. His value for the Sox is behind the dish. Not in the field.

He got injured and was lost for the season playing LF. A gut feeling he belongs behind the plate.

Theo signed Crawford. He called Henry and Werner up in the middle of the night. Both of them not in the country. JH owned a soccer team at the time they had bizz at that part of the world. Theo thought he was getting the player that played for the rays. They gave him the green light. He did it. John Henry had doubts but did it anyway. That stuff is fact. The moment I have a chance. I would adjust it...Sale/Porcello/Price/Erod/Wright. If Bucholtz or Pomeranz is traded or gets injured. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter.

Lester was a FA signing Lackey was a FA singing Jake A. was through trade He traded 4 prospects for Chapman Zobrist was a FA signing Castro was Traded Rizzo was through trade. It was I thought a prospect for prospect deal. Still great deal... great young players. A lot of vets though as well. The pitching that Theo got is what put him over the top. Trade/FA

Just going back as early November the CHW wanted Beni and Devers. They weren't taking nothing else. At the TDL last July they wanted Betts or XB. They would have taken Bradley but not as a centerpiece of the deal. They wanted top prospects from all the teams. The price drops from one top prospect. Just so they can ask for the other top one on the board who's next in line. If they take no great young players off your roster, they take 2 out of 5 best prospects. I agree 100%

Also 8 first class round trip tickets included in the deal ( Japan) family/ friends the Cubs put in there. . Not bad.

After looking over this article my thought is... I like the trade. I understand the prospects that they traded. But my thought was at the time the starting staff was good not great. I completely understand everybody's under contract for a good amount of time. But Kimmi I don't have a problem with the Sale deal. The Pomeranz deal a little. It could have been voided. They chose not. The Red Sox have enough good/ great everyday players. They lacked a proven ace. That's not a knock on Price/Porcello. It was a good article. But they didn't say was Sale could take the pressure off the bullpen. That means a little less of Branes , Kelly, getting key late inning outs. I think Sale brings a little FU when he's on the mound. I think this could take the pressure off of Price. When you lose Ortiz your O drops . They replaced it with Sale and Thornburg. More pitching pitching... It's sort of like when a dog has puppies you can't keep every puppy. Some get sold. Sad but true.. I also think stashing Erod in the minors makes no sense. He the 4 th starter . He needs the ball every fifth day. I change on this everyday . I say move Bucholtz. I say move Pomeranz so they can restock the system. But I also saw in Cafardo's article that said both of their medical reports don't look good . I disagree. I keep both until after ST. They won't . But I would.

Agreed. But keep in mind DB was not as lock down last year as he's been in the past. Chapman, yes. DB has some issues. He's pitched a lot over the last2/3 years. With the Yankees going with the young players mixed in with the vets. He will continue more pitching in high leverage moments.

Just a guess. They needed Kopech in the deal . The reason this is just me thinking. They didn't want anything coming off the roster like pitching( Pomeranz, Erod) so Kopech was the one. They didn't part with any of the OF's or XB. Your not getting Sale for Swihart's who's a mystery and hurt all of most of last year. Not his fault. But he was injured. Pomeranz you just can't throw in there after you gave up your number one PP. If that was the case they could have or tried the old return back 2 the Padres. ( medical reports) The CHW want control over the young players. They are in rebuild. As the case with the Eaton trade. I'm not an expert with the prospects other members on here know way more than me. Of course if they wanted Pomeranz in the deal they would have done it taking Kopech out. Just offering a thought.

I saw what you posted. You did say that . I agree. They should have been better in the 1 run games. But 94W in the AL East with everyone over 500 but the Rays isn't that bad. The only team that was clutch I guess was the CHC.

Doubt it. The last time Swihart's played LF he never played again. Swihart's role is catcher. Just incase Sandy Leon becomes himself again. Bradley is playing CF most of the time. He will hit 250/260 that's ok for a 8/9 hitter. Plus a GG type CF. But when JBJ slumps he slumps.

Sale Porcello Price Erod Wright Pomeranz might start the season in pen. He might even start the season on DL. He had a tired arm. Bucholtz could be dealt. If Wright is healthy he will be the five. They are in love with Erod.

Young. Beni will get 500AB's if healthy. Ramirez will play 1B
