That is correct. The rumor has it Chapman already turned down 5/85m from the NYY. Chapman will get near or a little over 100m. Jansen should bag a good deal north of 90m. The closers will be paid. IMO

#4. throw in a trade for Wade Davis and that is what's going down. With the Yankees dealing McCann they have money to blow on Beltran. I think the number one goal for them is Chapman. No way I pay Melancon that. I would just overpay for Jansen. I want Beltran signed , just so DD doesn't overpay for EE which I know would be a mistake.

Desmond he can play a lot positions . They can put Bradley in a trade for Sale. Desmond Sale Robertson Beltran It sounds like a plan. Sale gives you the #1 starter.. Desmond might set the loss of Bradley.... Beltran could DH maybe a 100 games and play some field. I would run this by Ramirez though . They will need the good Hanley at 1B. Robertson gives you a decent arm in the pen. His salary is high though. I like EE but I don't know. I'm stuck in the middle on that. I like the idea of it, but I don't know about the fit. The Desmond thought sounds good though IMO

Lester will need to bridge this game so Chapman can get in there. Pressure is on BIGTIME.

No great FA pitchers out there. Unless you want Jansen/ Chapman and overpay one of them for the bullpen. I'd rather have Jansen. If you overpay him , he might bite on the setup role. The pitching you want will be by trade if it happens.

Agree. The talk around here was Cespedes putting in the work .Was demanding to play RF. A royal pain. If that's the case I would overpay for EE. Not interested.

If Vazquez can prove he's a 100% healthy after his surgery( Wieters) he will make the team on his defense alone. I would shop Leon and go with Vazquez / Swihart duel. If your thinking big ,Ramos is out there. But it would cost them Brian McCann money. 5/85-90M. I agree with you I would not go with Leon as the #1

Hendricks matched Kershaw twice he pitched against him, allowing one run in two games. The Cubs bats are starting to come around now. I'm not trying to jinx them. I'll pick them in 6. What kind of RP. I would think of someone in the mold of a 6th inning piece RP. Owens is a throw in, Abad has no value, Holt maybe a 7th inning RP.. Moon, the Red Sox are not high on Hernandez as you are.

I'm not sure of that. He was never used in the playoffs. When they could have thrown him in there, Game 1 or 3, instead of DP in long relief. He might be. If you got a chance of getting Sale or Q.... He's the best. He's nasty. When he has it all going, you just don't have a chance. Clayton Kershaw has thrown 302 pitches in the post season in a 10 day time frame.... That is what an ACE does. Jansen comes in and gives you a little more heat...ballgame. Jansen, is gas and more gas. He just pumps it in and says hit it if you can.. he comes after you which I like, doesn't mess around.

If you are looking for a young controllable ace that pitches good in the postseason , how do you get it without giving up good prospects. DD is responsible for Price and trading for Pomaranz . David Price pitched good not great. The jury is still out on Pomaranz. Kimbrel has been good. He will continue to close games at a good clip. Be it control problems at times. DD did not tell Henry to spend 60 M on Moncada. He did not tell him to spend 95M on Panda or trade Lackey for Craig and Kelly. Rusney Is a bust. If they sign EE, they could part with Moncada for the right type of ACE. I know none of them are out there.. I'm not crying about it. I am not trying to bring up old stories. I am not going into the time machine. The BIG mistake this ownership and GM made....... Lester to sign elsewhere. They could have had him signed by spring training. 5/110 would have did it.
