  1. Forget this game, one of those that happen. Good Teams, move on quick.
  2. Most Draft sites I've seen have the Sox taking Keston Hiura 2B/OF at 24.
  3. Your probably right, I thought Kimbrel was all over the plate last year. I'll have to rely on you guys to tell me if his control is much better this year, They moved me to 2nd shift. Only Weekends with me, for now. His BB's are down this year.
  4. Last 2 times Vazquez caught Kimbrel, Kimbrel has thrown 30 + Pitches. Something to keep an eye on. Maybe not comfortable with him.
  5. Won last night by 1 run, that productive out by Bogaerts was big in 1st inning. In Baseball Outs are important, in situations. Crazy as that sounds. Smart Baseball wins a lot of games.
  6. Him and Betts got the quickest hands on this team.
  7. These 2 out RBI's are impressing me.
  8. Baseball is an interesting game, where you can win it by making an out. A negative play. Is that in WAR? Batter hustles down to 1st to beat out DP, while runner scores from 3rd. Stuff like that. For me as I got older I slowed down on that stats, and just watch the game. So may things that Stats don't show.
  9. 85 games played so far in the Majors, wow and we want to demote him. Tough crowd. Kid has been a good hitter everywhere, he'll figure it out. It's the Majors.
  10. Like that he is getting 2 out RBI's, trying to make contact. Good sign.
  11. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/milwaukee-brewers-mauricio-dubon-fitting-in-quickly/c-233543252/t-185364810
  12. Just cant get too high on a Prospect Gulf Coast League. Competition is just not there, your facing too young of kids. You have to wait till Single A for a start. Still say they develop Espinoza into a Reliever.
  13. A few names for the 2017 Draft, that Perfect Game likes, that Sox could Draft. RHP Griffin Canning UCLA Kelton Hiura 2b/OF UC Irvine Evan White 1B/OF Kentucky like this kid, one of the better pure hitters in this Draft. Alex Lange RHP La. State Heliot Ramos CF Leadership Christian Academy. Reading Theo really likes this kid, rising up most Draft boards. Draft is June 12.
  14. You cant blow leads after the 6th inning anymore. BP's have become the reason you win or lose in the Majors today. Third of the season is just about done and there is 7 teams that don't have a complete game yet. 3 teams are tied for the lead at 2. You get a Starter that gets hit hard, I can live with that, happens. You have to hold leads. Holds should be a Stat, that should be looked at harder. Even over Saves. Also a Manager, has to be good at not burning out his BP. Smith coming back, and if we can get Thornburg back, this team will take off. Not worried about our Starters as much. The 1 run and 2 run games is the ones you have to win.
  15. I see more blunders and screw-ups on Sac. Bunts, than I ever did. Teams don't practice it anymore, especially in the AL. A fundamental, that is forgotten. I would use it just because of this.
  16. Keeping an eye on my boy in Portland, Jake Cosart, started slow, with a lot of walks, but starting to bring it. 15 innings with 23 BB's is not going to cut it. But has only allowed 6 hits. Jumped 2 leagues last year, and promoted to Portland this year. This is where you see if he has it to be future closer in Boston. Last year 70 innings with 104 K's, he has the arm.
  17. That was a Damn good catch by Bradley with a 5 run lead. 3 runs or less, you better make Damn sure you make that catch. He was smart that he understood the situation and score.
  18. How long did that game take? 2 HRS and 23 minutes.
  19. Move him to 9th spot, where he seems to flourish. Give him a Month, but he is dangerously coming close to where he does not save enough runs in a game to what's he is leaving on the bases. I always allow for lower average just as long as your doing well in High pressure situations. .208 in RISP and .091 with 2 out scoring position has to improve.
  20. Probably only team that offered him a closing role after having TJ surgery, and throwing in the 80's when he got hurt. He'll Opt out after this year anyway. Or if the Rockies start to falter, they will Trade him, and get good Prospects, Relievers get the best returns, nowadays.
  21. Wish the Sox signed Holland, guy is pitching lights out in Colorado. Saw him, high 90's 28K's to 6 walks. Something like 19saves. 0.96 Era. Guy was always a stud, had a year off, to recover, that was a good gamble. 7 million this year. Sox are reeling. Need a winning streak.
  22. Have you seen either play in person? I have. Both at the Double AA level. Have a Happy New Year! Good Luck!
  23. 2 Catchers same age in Double AA at that time 22 years olds. Catcher A caught 837 innings, 10 Errors, 23 Passed Balls, Caught Stealing 46% Catcher B caught 844 innings, 8 Errors, 0 Passed Balls, Caught Stealing 47% Which one has more potential would you think has more potential in the Majors as a good Defensive Catcher? Neither of these Catchers caught a Knuckleball Pitcher those years in Double AA. Me, I choose Catcher B. Blake Swihart Catcher A Christian Vazquez
  24. Things start getting serious now with FA's that are not signed. By being patient you could get 2 Players for 1 year of Buchholz. Plouffe and Fister?
  25. Bill James is good for some not for me though. Too many variables during a game, season, that is done behind the scenes. Many times an out is a Productive thing in Baseball Game. Is that recorded into his stats. Hustle to break-up Double play, hustle to beat out Double Play? Backing up Outfielders, Infielders? Hitting the Cut-off Man. Tons of thing done in a game, to win it, where you just cant put stats on.
