  1. Wasn't worried about Luxury Tax, I was thinking what return would you get. Not much. Might as well keep him for now.
  2. 13.5 million and 1 year rental for Buchholz, might be better to wait at Deadline, and see how season goes. Teams will not give much for Buchholz. I would use him and Kelley for multiple inning Pitchers, in the middle innings, 6+7 innings, 6 outs, 1 Pitcher. Not 3 outs 2 Pitchers.
  3. Smart deal for Beltran, like him too. As a GM I'm not doing it. I'll pay you 16 million for next year, but if were in last place or struggling, I cannot move you to improve for future, forget it. You sign a FA you should always be able to move him. Got to think future. Because he does good doesn't mean Team will do good. Best time to Trade, Player doing well, and other Teams looking for help. It should be an investment, both for present and future.
  4. Loved the All-Star game meant something. The best Players, playing for a purpose. Like a Mid Season Play-off game. Now, it will be like NFL Pro-Bowl. Nothing to play for. Managers have nothing to Manage in a meaningless game. Nothing to watch anymore for me.
  5. What's the average age of a Free Agent after he gets through the arbitration process. 30? 28-29 if your lucky. Be careful who you wish for.
  6. I like Lind, has a career .294 avg. in Fenway, .283 in Camden Yards, .287 New Yankee Stadium, .261 in Tampa, .279 in Toronto. Proven AL East guy.
  7. I do, Drafted in 14, Out of Indiana U, made it to AAA already, and started hitting for a little more Power. But, I don't worry about power too much at this point. He makes contact, doesn't K much. This kid been a hitter everywhere he's been, including College.
  8. That's OK. In July Teams will be looking for Relievers, I'll stock up my Minors, with a Trade, you see what great prospects were giving up last July, for Closers? I'll corner the Market. haha 31 Million for Price, you get almost 1.5 great Relievers, who Pitch more days, and affects more games. And are easier to Trade. You think you could Trade Price? 3 Great Relievers and cost only 1 Draft Pick. Anyway it's a crazy dream. Wont happen. Happy Thanksgiving!
  9. As crazy as this sounds, with the 100 pitch count in Baseball today, I would sign Melancon, Jansen, and Chapman. Flip flop every other day when we have leads, and make them multiple late inning Relievers. Make every game I could a 6 inning game for the Starters. Save money on Pitch Count clickers. Bullpen is the future, the way the game is going.
  10. I never go by DSL or GCL stats, for any Prospects. What I like seeing is a 16 year old by pass those leagues and go right to A ball and dominate. Level of competition is the important thing. Espinoza dominated Rookie Leagues, but when he made his jump to next level he struggled. Does he get promoted to A+ ball or does he stay where he will face many players he just dominated a year before? Wait and see I guess. Urias was facing kids on a average 6 years older than him in the Minors, Espinoza has faced kids 3.5 years older than him. Now Urias in the Majors he is facing 9 years older than him, with Major League experience. Only Player I would Trade Moncada for. Happy Thanksgiving.
  11. So the 4 games they don't pitch doesn't matter? Just asking. But I agree, that in certain years Pitchers should win the MVP. 1968 Gibson and McClain deserved it. But, you better dominate, to win it.
  12. Only Player I want to sign if I'm losing a pick is Kenley Jansen. Money is a wonderful thing, people have a easier time to change their role if the price is right. It also sends a message to Kimbrel, who could be dealt for young talent, when a team like the Cubs, or Dodgers might be looking for in July. It's like Haley's Comet, 3 of the best Relievers on the Market at same time, Sox should be in on it. I'm convinced that Jansen could be a multiple inning Pitcher to shorten up the game more.
  13. To me all 3 Catchers are Question Marks. Not enough Major League starts to really evaluate. None have gone as a #1 for a full season. If I were another GM, I wouldn't offer much for any of them. We shouldn't use any as a throw in. Patience is the key with all 3.
  14. Fantastic signing, he works real good with kids. Was the Manager for PawSox in 2013 and won division title. From 07-09 was Manager with Lowell, won 2 Titles in 08 and 09. Once voted Minor League Manager of the Year in 13. Never had a losing record as a Manager in the Minors. This is one of the best moves the Sox could make. Local, and has a bright Baseball mind. Real glad he's back.
  15. Thank you!
  16. I don't call them Set-up Men anymore I call them Holders. Becoming more important than then Closers, especially guys that can go multiple innings. 6 outs you need now to not burn out a BP.
