  1. Hope he tells Otani to sign with the Sox, cant wait to see that kid in WBC.
  2. Lets take a step back for a second. If David Price were a FA this year, would he be the #1, target for teams? Would he be as valuable as last year? Reason I'm saying this is he will never Opt out, and are you absolutely sure he is made for Boston? Weak FA class, I might throw his name out there. Just a thought.
  3. 1) I'm not paying any of his Salary. Not with FA class that's out there. 2) I think a AL Pitcher has value, to the National League. 3) GM's will evaluate their staffs, and see with that affordable salary, what's Clay's ceiling. 4) Don't ask for the world, but just don't give him away. See what your Scouts think of the lower levels of other teams. But no Lower than A ball. Rookie Leagues mean nothing to me. I want tougher competition.
  4. I wouldn't do nothing at this point. Wait for Off-Season to continue. Players get hurt cutting bread. Wait for Spring Training for injuries to Pitchers, tons get injured at that point. Teams get more desperate, if they lose a Starter, to injury in Off-Season. Wait, see what happens. Patience is a virtue.
  5. People are ticked off about giving up Minor Leaguers, but aren't you doing same thing if you sign JB for 1 year, and lose a 1st Rounder. Double whammy to me. You need to keep your 1st Round Picks.
  6. Going to miss Koji. Hope he does well for the Cubs.
  7. Very good Post. Kelley and Barnes eyes should be popping out, with the Money that is being thrown at Relievers.
  8. Cubs did good and so did the Yanks, Cubs gave up Torres, who is blocked for years, Cubs won the WS, Yanks got Chapman back, and in 2 years he'll be throwing 99 instead of 105, and they will move him again, and get another good haul. Even with that contract.
  9. Agree about Desmond, Rockies had the 11th pick in the Draft, that's unprotected, and signed this guy, for big bucks and will be almost untradeable after 1st year of the deal.
  10. Yankees built the whole Farm system back up, by Trading 2 Relievers at the Deadline. That SS they got from the Cubs is going to be very good.
  11. You want to build Farm system again fast, sign Jansen or Chapman. Trade Kimbrel, Relievers especially Closers are getting unreal Prospects back, especially at the Deadline. There will be a lot of teams looking for Closers at the Deadline, just because you closed the Market, with Melancon off the Market. That's how you think ahead. I think you have to be under the Luxury Tax by Dec.2, take a chance.
  12. Benintendi LF Bradley CF Betts RF Young Reserve Outfield, Check. Didn't Trade 1 either. Cant believe it.
  13. If Betts, Bogaerts, Bradley, or Benintendi, were Traded then I would be angry. Your Farm is in the Majors, and proven Major Leaguers, what Minor Leaguer are you 100% sure they will make an impact in the Majors? Minor Leaguers never a sure thing. Had to do it. Cant believe any Sox Fan doesn't like this Trade. Kept E-Rod, Swihart, Betts, Benintendi, Bogaerts, and Bradley, Vazguez, Travis, Groome and got an #1 Starter with these kids. Wow! Now we are with the Cubs as far as Major League talent. And didn't give up a #1 pick in the Draft, one good Draft your back in the race again. You got 3 more before Sales contract run out. And its one of the best Team friendly contracts there is, makes as much as Buchholz this year.
  14. Not this year, he signed with the Nippon Ham Fighters, but the Nagaski Beef Jerky's were in on him also.
  15. You had to make this deal, did not give up Betts, Bogaerts, Bradley, and you got Sale, with those kids. Cant even believe Benintendi wasn't included. Your Farm is in the Majors.
  16. We can really keep the innings down on the Starters, this is a long Starting Staff. Pomeranz can go to BP, lots of Options.
  17. They kept Swihart and E-Rod? Holy COW!!!! Not sure though, this is GREAT!!! Kept a lot of CORE PLAYERS!!!
  18. Wow!!!
  19. 2 years ago Royals took a gamble on Ryan Madson, it worked, he was excellent that season, boost his stock, to sign another good contract. Sox should be looking at something like this with Holland.
  20. You gamble and sign Holland. If it works, you have something special, if not, cost you money not Prospects.
  21. Relief Pitching is the way the game is going, 100 pitch count, Starters mainly going 6 innings, you need the 7, 8, 9th innings covered.
  22. Read always had a great Change-up, this year he took it to another level.
  23. Really, that's OK. Don't want to lose Swihart. Good job by DD.
  24. If its Tyler Thornburg, I bet Swihart is gone. Thornburg pretty darn good. Brewers need Catching.
  25. Sox just made a Trade with Brewers. Reliever is all I heard.
