  1. Nice work jack, very thorough
  2. Jonathan Loaisiga is a pretty interesting prospect. (He) features a potentially plus fastball-curveball combination with the ability to throw either pitch for strikes in any count. The fastball consistently hovers around 95 (t97) with late movement … expect him to start shooting up prospect lists. He originally signed with the Giants out of Nicaragua back in 2013, but they released him a year later after some injury issues. The Yankees picked him up, he blew out his elbow and needed Tommy John surgery last year, and came back looking good this year. Loaisiga turns 23 in November, and he’s listed at 5-foot-11 and 165 lbs., plus he has an injury history, so there are some things working against him. Still, the Yankees picked him up off the scrap heap, and now he’s being written up as a breakout prospect.
  3. Okay all these extra innings victories are getting old. Like stop it already geez.
  4. Can you guys stop with these extra innings comebacks? So annoying!!!
  5. Would be great if he could go on a little run these last few weeks. Might be enough to get us back into the division race, pending how the Sawx play.
  6. Scouts have compared his hitting profile to Christian Yellich. That's no slouch.
  7. I like Solak too. I guess now that I think about it he's a fringe top 10 prospect at this point. I'd maybe have Guzman ahead of him, but that's personal preference. Hopefully Schmidt and Sauer pan out and make a jump up the list as well.
  8. Where'd you get this list from? I haven't seen Solak in any top 10s to date.
  9. Yankees-Rays series moved to Citi Field due to Irma. This essentially becomes a home series for the Yankees. Before all you Sawx scream about Yankees bias by the MLB, let it be known that the Yankees suggested it be played in Chicago but Tampa asked for it to be in Citi field.. likely because it will draw a lot of fans (mostly Yankees fans) and it will quadruple their annual ticket sales.
  10. Per writer Mike Axisa: "MLB is no doubt going to discipline the Red Sox for the whole stealing signs thing, though I don’t think it’ll be particularly harsh. They’re definitely not taking wins away or anything like that — that is not a precedent MLB wants to set — and ultimately, I think they’re going to slap them with a fine. I doubt they’re even going to take a draft pick away. The Cardinals had to pay a $2M fine and send their top two draft picks to the Astros for the hacking scandal, and that was a far more serious infraction. That was literally corporate espionage. The Red Sox broke baseball’s rules, not the law. The Red Sox have been playing the “he did it too!” game the last few days, but the fact of the matter is they used an illegal electronic device (the Apple Watch) in the dugout and admitted it when approached by MLB’s investigators. The sign stealing is not really the focus here. It’s the illegal electronic device. Technology is a huge part of baseball and everyday life, and it’s not going away. I think MLB will levy enough of a punishment a) because they have to do something, and to let teams know hey, don’t do this. Anyone hoping MLB hammers the Red Sox is probably going to be disappointed." Seems logical.
  11. Red Sox pitchers should be forced to yell out what pitches they're about to throw for the rest of the season. I see no other logical solution!
  12. You're lumping all of us men together regardless of our individual views? Hmmm
  13. Sorry, I couldn't resist
  14. I figure a thread will be started for this sooner or later, so I'll get the ball rolling. See below article: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/05/sports/baseball/boston-red-sox-stealing-signs-yankees.html?smid=tw-nytsports&smtyp=cur In summation, the Red Sox were accused by the Yankees of using Apple watches to steal signs from the catcher. The supposed order of operations was that a trainer or someone with a view of the catcher's signs would relay the signs to someone in the dugout via Apple watch, and then the person in the dugout would relay it to the player. Seems like a lot to do in a short amount of time.. but let's see if anything comes out of this besides a big distraction or if this becomes the next -gate.. probably Applegate.
  15. This Mendoza talk sounds familiar: http://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/18064-2017-Yankees-Season-Thread/page14 I believe the consensus was that she is not a very good announcer because she is not a very good announcer.
  16. Yeah too bad GCL West couldn't make it also. Bunch of scrubs.
  17. Sanchez was simply abiding by MMA rules in which ground and pound is perfectly legal. I'll have to double check the rules for tag team MMA though.
  18. I'm curious to see if we're actually hot right now or the Mets are just really realllly bad.
  19. Unlikely that he takes tanaka's start as he just pitched last night
  20. Right after "strength training" with Manny and Papi
  21. Cashman also got $1.5M international bonus money from Oakland. Otani in the offseason maybe? As for the deal, Beane bought low on two injured players who would otherwise be rated much higher than they are. And Mateo has all the tools you look for in a player, but the question is if he can translate them to the field. All in all I think it was a risky trade for both sides given Gray's injury history.
  22. Nothing finalized yet. A's have lowered their return expectations (no way they were getting Torres/Frazier) but still want Florial/Mateo/ + at least one of Sheffield/Adams/Acevedo. And probably something else as well. Don't know if Cashman would go for that.
  23. Because he drinks 5 Hour Energy
  24. I dunno if we're better than Houston, but I definitely think we're one of the best teams in the AL. Yanks could definitely take on the Stros if they're playing at the top of their game.
  25. On an unrelated topic, Rodon for the White Sox had a very bizarre line this afternoon where he gave up 4 runs in 4 innings. What's odd about that? 11 of the 12 hitters he retired were via strikeout, the first time that's been done since ever probably.
