  1. I think we lose Gomez for good. Everyone else likely comes back by end of Spring Training. Cortes is Vidal Nuno 2.0, Ford is a Billy Beane kinda guy who walks a ton but doesn't do any one thing particularly impressive, and Mesa is an oft injured prospect with some potential. Maybe Mesa doesn't return.. but not really any great losses here.
  2. Yanks are reportedly interest in Brandon Drury as well. Maybe a deal for Corbin/Drury or Greinke/Drury? That would be pretty sweet.
  3. Mitchell will slot in as the #2 starter on that crap team.
  4. Guzman is still at least 2 years away, but he is a legit prospect. Only guy in the minors with an 80 rating fastball
  5. Okay I get those points. But then you could dissect Boston's rotation just as easily using the same logic. Sale was great the first two thirds of the season but then turned into a pretty mediocre starter down the stretch, what if that carries into this season? Pomeranz was good but the guy usually can't pitch past 5 innings. Price has had some injury history since joining Boston but even when healthy, he has looked more like a 3/4 than an ace. Rick Porcello is a pile of trash that once won a Cy Young. E Rod has shown flashes but ultimately has been a disappointment to date. Wright is a knuckleballer so who the hell knows what he'll look like when he returns. See how easy it was to point out negatives and worst case scenarios?
  6. I knew Jeter was still working for us
  7. Stanton won't command numerous top 10 prospects for the fact that he comes with a $300M price tag. And I think signing Harper/Machado would result in losing a first round pick, which is essentially a top prospect. So to answer your question, yes the Yankees should sign all three!
  8. Cashman resigned. Priority #1, GET STANTON
  9. I'd still sign CC. One year deal of course. Someone is bound to get hurt during the year or will need a breather, and Adams/Sheffield can fill in. Of course there's still Cessa (meh) and Caleb Smith (yuck) plus the rumblings of Chad Green being turned back into a starter. So there's plenty of options.
  10. Great WS so far. Yankees being there would have made it even better, but in all likelihood we would have probably lost 4-2 by now.
  11. I'd like to see A-Rod manage just because it would make him the most interesting (and douchey) manager in baseball. I could see him doing really well or completely s***ing the bed.
  12. Watch us hire Farrell......
  13. I love the offseason. Nobody's hopes and theories and predictions for the next season can be disproved so they all flow without restrain, like a butt missing a sphincter.
  14. Baseball is stupid
  15. Don't worry, soon Planet X will reveal itself and put us all out of our misery. Seriously. NASA says there's likely another planet lurking out there.
  16. Tanaka is the key tonight. Yanks likely are not going to hit Keuchel, so Tanaka needs to keep pace with him.
  17. That was soooo dope
  18. Need some reverse mojo for tonight's game. C'mon guys, let's hear how Gray is gonna get lit up!!
  19. Tanaka's effectiveness is determined by the alignment of the Aries constellation in relation to the total solar output of our Sun. Based on my calculations, he will pitch anywhere from 1-7 innings and give up no less than 1 run and no more than 8.
  20. If only all humans felt this euphoric all the time. But then s*** would never get done.
  21. Yankees wasting so much champagne these past 2 weeks
  22. Absolutely. Even with our OF talent, signing Harper would make him our best outfielder. And the goal is to improve the roster and let the rest work itself out.
  23. I think girardi will be back. As egregiously bad as his game 2 was, he was still one of the better managers in baseball this year.
  24. Can't think about game 2 anymore. Who knows, if the series was tied 1-1 and our backs weren't against the wall, maybe Tanaka doesn't pitch with the same urgency as yesterday and there's a different outcome. In either case, game 4 is being played at home with our best pitcher on the mound. Everything is still in front of the Yanks, just have to play to their potential.
  25. Girardi deserves all the blame that he's received but it's also the job of the ump to get the call right on the field. He gets it right to begin with and nobody is having this discussion. Oh well.....
