  1. I remember that, I was so heartbroken. Moose deserved a perfect game
  2. None of this would have happened if Fowler didn't get injured. I'm curious if Fowler didn't get injured and played reasonably well, would Cashman have been more inclined to trade Frazier?
  3. I would be shocked if that happened. I can't imagine what it would cost to pry away Jose Abreu.
  4. We received two closer caliber relievers with more than a year of affordable contracts, and a rental who upgrades a position of need. For a very good prospect who is still 2-3 years away, playing a position that is overcrowded in our system. To me everyone else the Yanks threw into the deal was fodder. Clarkin is a former first round pick who has disappointed to date but is having a bounce back year (could it be a resurgence? Maybe, but we decided to sell while he regained some value), Polo is an undersized high energy guy who projects as a 4th OFer, and Clippard is Clippard. All in all I think the trade worked out for both teams.
  5. Except when our starter gives up 6 and our offense scores 0.
  6. Per sources, Yankees have acquired Robertson, Frazier, Kahnle for several minor leaguers - most notably last year's 1st rounder Blake Rutherford.
  7. Despite the prolonged slump, we're still only a few back in the division. Our team is too talented to keep losing like this. I think once they get out of this funk they're going to hit a stretch of really good baseball, kind of like what we saw in May. I have nothing to back up this claim, just a feeling from what I'm seeing.
  8. Don't know how these teams are gonna last through the double header tomorrow
  9. Lamest comeback ever
  10. No specific reason. They say he's healthy, just decided this was the optimal rotation for this series.
  11. Pineda with partial UCL tear. DL bound, likely never pitching another game for the Yankees.
  12. Headley wins!!
  13. Yankees rotation from what I've heard: Mongtomery Severino Mitchell Tanaka I made this point on the Yankees thread, but so it's visible here goes: "Montgomery pitching tonight against Boston. He was recently sent down to the minors so in order for him to come up before the 10 day window, someone must be sent to the DL. Pineda and CC are not scheduled to pitch in this 4 game series so I'm suspecting it's one of the two."
  14. Montgomery pitching tonight against Boston. He was recently sent down to the minors so in order for him to come up before the 10 day window, someone must be sent to the DL. Pineda and CC are not scheduled to pitch in this 4 game series so I'm suspecting it's one of the two. Damnit.
  15. We traded for Garrett Cooper, future HOFer. Just sayin.
  16. Yes! Steroids!! Clearly the Yankees are juiced. The Yankees and only the Yankees. Definitively.
  17. Holliday and Castro should be back by the time we return from the All Star Break, maybe even during this series against Milwaukee. That'll be a nice little boost. But ultimately the bullpen, specifically Betances/Chapman, need to get back to pitching like studs for us to get back in the race. The amount of blown saves and close games gone awry thanks to the bullpen over the past 30 day stretch has been pretty abysmal. The bullpen is a strength of the team and once (if) it returns to normal, I think we'll be in good shape. Green/Warren/Betances/Chapman for the 6th-9th is pretty formidable (plus Clippard if he can turn it around). All we'd really need from guys like Pineda and CC are 5 innings of non-horrible pitching.
  18. Both guys are legit prospects. Acevedo is likely ticketed for a closer/backend bullpen role in the MLB. Florial is still too far away to project, but he could end up being our top prospect at some point.
  19. Chance will be called up at some point this season. We've seen so far that cash has no issue calling up rookies. I think what's holding him back at this point is the state of the 40 man roster. He'll probably execute a couple of moves by the deadline that will make it easier to call up chance... And who knows from there.
  20. This ain't the end. Nobody is running away with this division. All it'll take for a team to win the East is to go on an extended hot streak. While we have injury issues, none are long term. We'll be close to full strength soon enough (barring any new injuries).
  21. Clutch is real. Nobody churns out more month end financial reports at crunch time than me. The key to my success is spending less time on sites like these.
  22. I was just throwing it out there. No pressure. Just figured it could spice up the rivalry a bit more. I mean I am a Yankees fan posting in a Red Sox forum and pretty much everyone is respectful and decent towards me. I feel like that would have been unheard of 5+ years ago.
  23. The Yanks are in no way this bad. Their bullpen is one of their strengths, but it has been their downfall in five of the last seven games. I think the Yanks playing within themselves will look more like the .700 team than this .000 team. But yes, the Yanks are not actually a .700 team. With that said, would anyone care to make a friendly wager? Yanks/Sox are pretty much even in the standings at the moment. Whoever's team wins the division wins the bet (bet is void if neither team wins the division). The stakes? The loser buys two tickets for the winner to a home playoff game in the divisional round.
  24. And the slide continues. The Yankees only know how to play baseball two ways: lights out domination, and s*** the bed in the middle of the night.
