    Terrible west coast trip. With the losses and injuries (to MLB and minor league players) last week, I don't think it could have gone any worse. The only positive I can think of right now is that at least we had built up a large enough cushion to weather a losing streak like this.. but it's gotta end this week. Back home, let's win some series!

    The problem with that is Judge stands so far back from the plate that if you went in on his ribs, you'd know it's intentional

    Our lineup is pretty beastly. 1 through 7 in the order are all at least above average hitters. Hopefully Bird rounds into form whenever he comes back. And I can live with Headley hitting .250 or so in the 9 hole as long as he plays well in the field. As for the pitching, everyone sans Tanaka has been a pleasant surprise. Who knows how long they'll keep it up for but if this lasts then we have a team with very few weaknesses.

    CC has said that he wants to keep playing into his 40's. Likely in the NL since he likes batting.

    Well hopefully he fixes his mechanics by tomorrow. Big series at this point of the season, could put some distance or drop out of 1st in the division depending on how it goes. But being at home and seeing that we aren't facing Sale, I think we should take 2 outta 3. I'm sure the forum residents would disagree though.

    Judge is the best 6'7 outfielder in the world. No way we trade Pineda and Didi. Tanaka sucks. Until the next start where he has 14Ks, then he's the man. But then as soon as he gives up another 7 runs in 2 innings, he sucks again.

    The positive is now hicks will get to play everyday. But ells was actually playing pretty well. Sucks.

    Lose either (or both) Gardner/Ellsbury. Call up Frazier or Fowler to bide time until Harper signs a $1B contract with the Yankees until he's 45.

    Agreed, I have no issue with him being waved home. With Ellsbury running, I'd say there's a 50% chance of scoring on that single. Compared to Holliday who has a .270 AVG, or 27% chance of driving him in. Obviously it didn't work out (for Yankees fans anyway), but I would make the same decision if the situation occurs again.

    That was a crazy ten seconds of mixed emotions. I went from anxious before the pitch, to pumped after the ball got through the infield, to bummed when Ells got gunned out.
