I don't know if "mirror" is the word I'd use. They both made high impact acquisitions in Crochet/Fried. But after that Boston hasn't done much except add a couple of guys to the back end of the roster. Maybe they'll sign Bregman to try and salvage their lackluster offseason. But it appears that they're going to continue operating like a mid market team.

Seems like Yanks/Sox have been less averse to making trades with each other these past few years. Sox are looking for a starter and Yanks are looking for a first baseman. A Luis Gil for Casas trade would work for both teams.

This is a good trade for the Sox IMO. They just landed a guy who has arguably the best stuff in baseball. Sure it's risky, but so is paying any pitcher these days.

Is anyone sure that Story is still a good player? In his 3 years with Boston he has a combined .681 OPS (.227/.287/.394) and he'll be 32 next season. If the opportunity presents itself I'd offload him for whatever you can get.

Swearing yes, slurs no. How about making fun of player appearances? There are many references to Judge looking like a horse, or Naylor looking like Fat Mahomes, etc. I'm cool with it but not sure where it would fall now.

Growing up in Brooklyn we used the word ******' quite often. It was just another word to rag on someone like *******, prick, etc. I guess because of that I'm desensitized to it and don't think of it as a homophobic word, just another swear word. But I came to realize the word can have a vastly different meaning to others and have not uttered it in public since. Duran hopefully has learned the same thing.

Funnily enough both Volpe and Verdugo made great plays earlier in the game (Volpe laid out for a liner that would've scored a run, and Verdugo ran down a deep ball in Baltimore's massive left field in the 8th that helped keep the score close). It was very odd (and infuriating) to see them both flub a routine play consecutively with the game on the line. Maybe they bet on the O's?

Hopefully they're good at it. One of my friends has like a 50% win rate which I don't even know how that's possible. I don't think I've ever won once.
