  1. RHP Richard Fitts Injury: Right mild pectoral strain IL date: April 13 (15-day IL) Expected return: Late May/Early June Status: Threw first bullpen session since his injury shutdown on May 5 and will throw another on May 8. (Last updated: May 8) More >>
  2. I wish Cora would have them bunt to advance the baserunner. Do something constructive. Connor is 6-38, all singles. Ugh.
  3. My top 4 would be Crochet, Giolito, Bello and Dobbins. Houck maybe jettisoned to the pen when injured starting pitchers return.
  4. It would be nice to get 2 out of 3 and get out of town. Go 1-2 or 0-3 and we're back to mediocrity. Houck needs to right himself.
  5. Hey Moon I asked if we should build our rotation around our 4 youngest starting pitchers? Youngest to oldest. They will all be 26 on 12/31/25. R Fitts, H Dobbins, G Crochet, B Bello. The next youngest believe it or not is P Sandoval. Then Houck and Crawford. Tolle and Early, both lefties look to be ready by 2027 if not sooner. They are 22 and 23 and ranked #8 and #9 in Soxprospects, just ahead of Fitts. Thoughts?
  6. Campbell would be my starting 2B. It's about getting Mayer enough bats. I think he is better option than Hamilton. Realistically, what more can AAA teach Mayer? So what if he gets 'hot' in AAA? It's time to improve the major league team. Mayer will be under team control for 6 years starting in 2026. Why not use him right now to improve our team? He can give much needed rest for Story. Story needs a mental break.
  7. nope....give him enough at 3 infield positions. At some point both story and bregman will need some rest. We can move Campbell to OF from time to time.
  8. Bres should do what Devers suggested. Go outside of the organization and get a 1B.
  9. Hamilton's speed is not an asset if you don't play him. He's not hitting and his defense was always 50/50.
  10. How much is Hamilton really worth during the regular season. I can see his speed being an asset during the playoffs but now? Not getting enough at bats and his fielding is still shaky. He still has an option. Tuck him away in AAA. Bring up Mayer and let him play 2B. It's time.
  11. Sox now with 3 guys in top 10 AL OPS, #3 Bregman, #4 Abreu and #9 Devers.
  12. If we get Buehler back and get Houck righted, we'd be in pretty good shape. Not sure what we'll do when Kutter returns.
  13. I think just for laughs, Devers should play catch in Detroit with a first baseman's mitt.
  14. Like I said, it was a nasty day for Giolito to pitch the other day.
  15. Giolito has quietly struck out Witt Jr three times.
  16. Rafaela swings at the first pitch more than anyone else in the majors. Almost three times as many as Bregman. He goes after after an outside pitch out of the strike zone. The kid just can't control himself.
  17. Giolito maybe a good pitcher but he's slow as molasses. Very unsound fundamentally.
  18. We really missed on this one. Kyle Schwarber lf 4 years/$79M (2022-25) 4 years/$79M (2022-25) signed by Philadelphia as a free agent 3/17/22 22:$19M, 23:$20M, 24:$20M, 25:$20M 2022 46 HR 94 RBI .827 OPS 2023 47 HR 104 RBI .817 OPS 2024 38 HR 104 RBI .851 OPS Trevor Story 2022-27 6 years, $140M ($23M tax payroll annually) Yoshida 2023-27 5 years, $90M ($18M per year) Defensive shortstops are dime a dozen.
  19. See what Giolito has today. I'm discounting his last outing. It was horrible weather condition. Yeah, I know it was the same for both teams but that was a football weather. Too wet for him to grip the ball properly. Yep, I'm making excuses for him. I'm excited for our pitching depth. (as of 12/31) 26 year olds, Fitts, Dobbins, Crochet and Bello. 29 year olds, Touck, Crawford and Sandoval 31 year olds, Buehler and Giolito Go Sox
