  1. Wright threw 62 pitches today. It's expected that he'll have one more start. He's not allowed a run in three starts. Porcello threw 98 pitches today in a minor league game. I'd say he's ready.
  2. I'm sorry....but why in the hell would you keep a $13.5M, 7th starter? I just don't get it. I'm glad all of you are not running the Sox.
  3. 4 1/3 IP, 2H, 3K, 1BB, 0 R..........another solid outing for Wright. Strong indication that injury is behind him.
  4. Bogey at SS with potential for additional power is what gives him higher ceiling at SS. Wouldn't his bat become less valuable as a 3B? Similar to Swihart being a catcher versus a left fielder.
  5. E Rod threw 85 pitches in a minor league game yesterday and declared ready to go. Last year on June 27th making his 6th start, he fell apart. In 2 2/3 innings, he allowed 11 hits and 9 runs. He was sent down to the minors. He's way ahead of where he was last year. Here's hoping he stays healthy all year.
  6. It appears Sale, Porcello and E Rod are ready to go. Assuming no near future set backs, Wright looks to be on track. By the way, I've trashed Clay B as much as anyone on this board. But looks like a he had a decent outing vs Yankees yesterday. His line was 5 IP, 1 R (HR), 5H, 2B, 1K. I still think the sox did the right thing. I wish him well. I just didn't like the roller coaster ride that he too us.
  7. I'll take 6 IP, 2 R, 10K, 0BB...Beats the f*** out of Thornburg stat line....
  8. Quite frankly, they have no idea....Price can go out and blow out his elbow tomorrow....all speculation "Drew Pomeranz suffers another injury" - 2 days ago "Drew Pomeranz blames triceps tightness on altered mechanics" - yesterday Boston Herald Headlines.
  9. So you don't think its significant what Sale did today? All because it's ST? I don't know about you but I'm going to enjoy watching Sale pitch this year.
  10. Nope I'm glad he's gone and I don't have to think about him.....have you see him pitch this spring? Typical Clay......I rather watch Kendrick pitch and get knocked around than go through Buchholz debacle.
  11. 93 looks like a good number
  12. YEP.....We're stuck with his salary no matter what. Put your best team out there. If that means platooning Pablo, I have no problems with it. We owe him NOTHING. Well we owe him $19M and that's being paid.
  13. You've said all along Holt may NOT be our 2nd option at any position. I agree. I would also contend that I may want Selsky at 1B before Holt also. Hell maybe even at 3B. He started out as a 3B.
  14. So true. Kendricks may get shelled when he pitches during regular season but he has mowed down the opponents that he came across in ST. There's no denying that he has had command of his pitches. More than what we can say for many of our pitchers.
  15. You hated the trade and we get it. But I think you're lying to yourself if you thought we should have done NOTHING. That's what is meant by AFTER THE FACT.
  16. Let's give us five starters for now. Is our option after those five really the WORST in MLB? Are we that bad?
  17. Again, after the fact. You just didn't like what we gave up. Something had to be done.
  18. I'm pretty certain 90% of Sox fans at 2015 All Star break was wondering why in the hell we extended Porcello for 4 years at $80M.
  19. We don't know if $31M arm is coming back this year but we're all worried about the $4M man. And now we long for a guy that's owed $12.5M who DISAPPEARED LAST YEAR DURING CRITICAL STRETCH THAT FORCED THE SOX TO LOOK FOR EXACT STARTING PITCHING HELP. Bunch of Monday morning quarterbacks. DD was hired to win. 2016 Division Champs 2017 Why not wait and see what happens before you jump off the ledge.
  20. Very encouraging to see Wright go 3 more innings today.
  21. And we already have a left fielder.
  22. He will take some reps at third base according to JF. He's already familiar at 1B. Obviously he can play OF. Looks to me like the 5th OF who can play multiple positions. I think he played 3B in high school. Gives us another right handed bat off the bench for our corner infielders. I just don't want to see Hanley at first. Let him just hit.
  23. There you go again, throwing out facts in my face. Damn doctors.
  24. Kendrick leads the majors in IP with 18. He has 16 K, 3 BB, 12 Hits, 3 runs, 1 HR, WHIP of .083. Yeah, it's spring training and stats mean nothing.....but I rather see this than say Thornburg's.
  25. E Rod pitched strong 4 innings. 0 runs, 6 K's,3 BB. Best news? He's heatlthy. Good news front; Porcello healthy Sale healthy E Rod healthy Wright appears healthy Pom appears healthy Kyle healthy, willing, throws strikes I'd keep Price on the shelf as long as we can. Give the guy some rest.
