  1. Wright looks like beer drinker on a bad bowling league team. Lets not compare athleticism of Vaz vs Wright.
  2. We think so much of Pablo that we're willing to let Vazquez play 3B? Sure let's do something about 3B when we get down by 10 games.
  3. Except when they play us....
  4. When was Porcello ever in Mexico?
  5. The downturn in production of Ramirez this year -- his slugging percentage is just .405 -- suggests that perhaps Moreland and youngster Sam Travis could coexist on the Red Sox roster next season and beyond. Moreland deflected the idea of negotiating a contract extension during the season -- “Right now we’ve got more important things to take care of,” he said -- but gushed about his experience with Boston so far. “I loved it from the minute that the Red Sox called,” he said. “It has probably exceeded my expectations as far as the group of guys, an unbelievable group of guys. I’m excited about the next few months.” I'm not only one thinking this scenario...
  6. I agree. Let's not wait until we're falling in standings to do something about it. Do something now. 3B is a definite problem. Quit wasting time on Pablo. Don't be a nice guy. We're here to win. I always go back to the theory that you have 25 MEN using up one of their precious seasons. You can't simply derail that because you want to be a nice guy for ONE player. You owe it to other 24. I would give Devers a quick look before doing anything else. If he fails and if he can't handle that, then he's not a major league material. Find out what he's made of . Anyone here think Moncada is FINISHED as a major leaguer because what happened when he was called up?
  7. The injury, Farrell has said, began when Ramirez turned to address someone before Thursday’s game. Can we suspend the reporter that asked the question behind Hanley' line of sight? JFC, talk about a wall flower.....I didn't know he was such a drama queen. To John F., it maybe TRUE what you said, but can you come up with a better excuse? The real culprit is the object sitting on top of his shoulders.
  8. Basically we have one reliable starting pitcher. Wheels can come off at any minute. 3B MUST BE FIXED.
  9. Sandoval appears to be all or nothing type right now and his all is sadly average at best. I hate his plate discipline. He doesn't hit the ball, rather the ball hits the bat. He just looks so non athletic playing 3B. You are correct, he can't be trusted. He just needs to go at some point.
  10. Speaking of rotation......where would this team be without Sale? Or Kimbrel? Or Moreland? Not having Shaw has stung but we had to give Pable one more look, didn't we?
  11. Per Sox Prospects Player of the Night: A grand slam from Bryce Brentz is the latest chapter in the outfielder's scorching June. Brentz now has nine home runs over his last 23 games, with 14 walks and 14 strikeouts over his last 80 at-bats. Brentz is hitting .345 in June as he continued to lead the PawSox offense. Can he become the cheap replacement for Young in 2018?
  12. Yeah, you just threw up a little in your mouth.
  13. Yeah, I was just hoping....who would pay $10M for used up DH with no power?
  14. Hanley had 610 or so plate appearances in 2016. He needs 1050 combined for 2017/2018 seasons to force Sox into picking up his option for 2019. He SHOULD be motivated to see the field every chance he gets. He just seems injury prone these days. I'm at a point I'm praying he fails to reach 1050 plate apperances. Ben really f***ed up with Pablo/Hanley (remember for him to play left field?) signings. What we can do with $40M right now. How many of us get to keep our jobs for royal screw up?
  15. Porcello says he knows what's wrong but has been unsuccessful fixing his problem....whatever that is. This is getting serious. It's not about depth but it's about quality depth. E Rod returning would be a big help. I just hate to make another trade and empty out the farm again. We must keep Devers and Travis. They can give us 6 years of team control at corner positions. Moon what do you think of trading Hanley after the season (maybe eat half of his contract) and re signing Moreland for 2 years at $20M to primarily DH and play some 1B? Or is that an overpay?
  16. We've been fortunate with our bullpen this year. Kimbrel just has been lights out. 1B, 3B and DH spots need to be power positions. Our lack of production at 3B and even at DH is killing us offensively. Front office is delusional thinking we have enough bats, we don't.
  17. I usually just look at # of games above .500. We're up 9 games now which I believe is season high. In many respects, it's unreal. We haven't had full complement of players yet.
  18. Given that the Red Sox have traded their share of highly-coveted prospects in recent years to land the likes of Craig Kimbrel and Chris Sale, it isn't surprising that the club took 26 college players in this Draft. College players traditionally get to the Major Leagues quicker. Moon, what we talked about. Drafting college kids to get ready for impending cliff diving.
  19. Johnson is hurt....hits keep on coming. What a bunch of wuss.
  20. I agree on not trading Devers. We are so close to having long term, CHEAP, solution at both 1B and 3B. It would be fiscally irresponsible to trade away Devers at this point. And we are in this position because of Pablo/Handley signings.
  21. What the hell is exactly wrong with Thornburg? Surgery is not recommended. Did he tell the doctor that it hurts when he threw and the doctor told him to quit throwing?
  22. Rotation is a big concern. Bullpen not so much. And Carson Smith maybe returning soon. Plus Pom is a long reliever that just happens to start the game. Stat of the Day... Henry Owens....4.2 IP 4 hits, 8 walks, only 1 run given up.....Commissioner may suspend him for detrimental to desire for shorter games.
  23. It's amazing to me that Sale, Porcello and Price all show toughness on the mound and you can feel it. I don't see that from Pom. He just seems to be oblivious to why he's on the mound. It's one thing to lack talent, it's another not to have mental toughness.
  24. I agree. Pablo signing is one of the worst EVER by Ben that continues to haunt us.
