  1. If only we had some sort of drug players could take to heal faster…
  2. It’s so cute how you own off your impatience on everyone else. “Really!! It’s not me who thinks people should get fired after one last place season! I still remember last season!! It’s not me! It’s… everyone else!! It’s Red Sox Nation! They’re the ones judging everything on this year! And they’re everywhere! They’re membership might even include YOU!” “But not me”…
  3. It was those last 3 fWAR that got him $50mil extra…
  4. And probably undeserved in many cases. Chris Sale had elbow surgery and broken ribs followed by a broken finger and then a broken wrist. Exactly what was the Sox medical staff supposed to do for any of that? The treatment for broken bones is time. There’s no pill or surgery. Time…
  5. No. Hard disagree…
  6. I think it’s pretty unlikely they do better than Kike for a one year deal. He’s still one of the best defensive centerfielders in the game and shouldn’t be judged solely by batting average…
  7. The “stories coming out of the clubhouse” is complete horse s***. There are always happy players and always disgruntled players. If the media didn’t like Bloom as much as he also says as fact, are they going to run positive stories about him within the clubhouse? “We hate Bloom but the players do love him.” The stories about all the fans who hate Bloom clearly don’t involve this board, where there is a close split. Really the whole point denny was making is he cannot tolerate a singular losing season from a GM who doesn’t run the team the way he wants it run. All of his posts about “not understanding how people support Bloom” and about how they never criticize him just lend more credence to this. As does his blaming Bloom for the failures he inherited from Dombrowski…
  8. Everything in your posts about not liking Bloom is just speculation, but that didn’t stop you from presenting it as fact…
  9. So did you feel this way last year? Or should the Sox fire every CBO once the team has one bad season?
  10. They seem to have been adjusting those values on BTV. The values of Luzardo, Rogers, Garrett and Cabrera have all changed recently. Likely all due to changing their remaining service time. Of course if whatever sites they use for performance projections changes what Luzardo is expected to do, that’s another matter. I’d like to see another SP, but it’s hard to guess from where. I wouldn’t sign deGrom for fear that the mere act of inking his name on the deal will rip two tensions in his hand…
  11. If the Sox sign a SS, I’d just assume bring back X. And then avoid Nimmo or Laureano. I think Nimmo and his OBP are important, but I would greatly prefer Laureano in RF defensively, especially at Fenway..,
  12. While it would be nice, the Devers situation doesn’t have to be resolved; he’s under team control for 2023. Bogaerts is headed to free agency and it’s going to come down to his demands. There are reasons in his 2022 to extend him and reasons to let him walk…
  13. The Notin Moves 1. Sign Wacha 2. Trade for a Miami SP. Ceddane Rafaela and Wikelman Gonzalez for Jesus Luzardo works on BTV and feels reasonable. 3. Trade for Ramon Laureano. No idea what it would take. 4. Sign CF Brandon Nimmo. 5. Sign 2-3 RPs. Top choices are Michael Fulmer and Rafael Montero 6. Deal Hosmer. Likely for an arb-eligible RP from Milwaukee, Pitt or Oakland. 7. Get a DH. My top choice is Brandon Belt, but the extremely legitimate health concerns are a really good argument against. Play ball!
  14. I e been saying this for months plus a few days and several hours. And a bunch of minutes. I can’t forget about those minutes…
  15. I think chemistry might be nothing more than a phrase co-opted by sports journalists who one day woke up and realized they might struggle to write 800 word articles every day that say nothing more than “the team played bad.”
  16. I’ve been saying this for months. Of course I’ve been told that since it’s been 3 years, all those “Plan B” contracts have transferred responsibility and Bloom officially signed them now. It’s like some sort of Common Law thing, apparently…
  17. You really learn what the media wants you to learn. Is a clubhouse filled with grown men of varying backgrounds, cultures, languages and attitudes ever the harmonious place we think it is even when a team is winning?
  18. Because the overwhelming bulk of the Boston sportswriters community thinks complaining = intelligent commentary…
  19. Does any GM ever get high marks from the clubhouse? The guy who trades and releases players and argues against raises in arbitration hearings is likely to not be as popular as you think…
  20. I think the reaction to the deal of Vazquez was more about the message than the actual deal or Vazquez himself. Suddenly “Wai! We’re … sellers?”
  21. Huh? https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/nlcs-game-3-cardinals-giants-aj-pierzynski-booed-att-park-clubhouse-cancer/1vaegne816v131ayh5pk1t4nal https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2012/06/13/mens-journal-survey-a-j-pierzynski-is-baseballs-most-hated-player-philly-has-the-most-obnoxious-fans/ And there are others. Now, a lot of this is hype, and Pierzynski was certainly very approachable and affable with the Chicago media. But he was very, very far from being well-liked. Particularly by Giants’ teammates…
  22. There’s 16 games left in the season. Just how rifled should those feathers be?
  23. If Eovaldi and Hill had pitched better, maybe the Sox wouldn’t be using the final month of the season as an open audition for 2023 and would have kept Plawecki…
  24. He needs to be added to the 40 man in December of this year to avoid selection in the Rule 5 draft. At that end, he might be the best trade bait the Sox have to offer…
