No one is suggesting Duran can be traded for Ames Rosario or Nico Hoerner. But he has a speed advantage that could prove useful with new rules and, while his hitting stats were weak, they actually weren’t the worst in MLB and actually do represent upgrades over some players. Not to mention he makes league minimum, which always has some appeal with certain teams…

I think we’ve reached a point where if Duvall does go to RF, Duran will play CF. And Kike and TBD start at middle infield. If any OF gets traded, Verdugo is simply much more tradable. Although I do like the idea of dealing Duran to the Cubs for 2b Nick Madrigal…

The Red Sox get their missing middle infielder. C - McGuire/Alfaro. Trevino 1b - Casas. Rizzo 2b - Torres. LeMahieu SS - E Hernandez. IKF 3b - Devers. Donaldson LF - Yoshida. Verdugo CF - Duran. Bader RF - Duvall. Judge DH - Turner. Stanton Is each team better than it was yesterday?

Those are the options. Duvall in CF or Duvall in RF. Now the latter still might mean Duran in CF…
