  1. Sorry for knowing how BABIP works…
  2. Manaea has been OK this year. Were the Mets willing to trade him? He’s under contract for one more year at $25mill. The only SP they traded are both FA after the season. (Technically Holmes has a player option.)
  3. Well those home runs don’t help his BABIP…
  4. That means they’ve been losing 23.8% of the time. Fire Breslow!
  5. Miles Mikolas got DFAd today. Problem solved. Unless you want a starter that doesn’t suck. I suppose the MLB debuts of Holobetz and/or Wehunt might happen in the near future…
  6. At some point, flipping Sogard and Monasterio in the field has got to make sense…
  7. They already have a good defensive mustachioed catcher that cannot hit…
  8. While Grichuk has carved out a decent career for himself as a platoon player that can crush LHP, Bleday looked like a bad idea before the season as a league average hitter that hadn’t been living up to the hype of being the #4 overall pick. Not sure what to think about wanting to add Bleday while subtracting the same struggling legacy in Mayer…
  9. Plus it’s a bit early to recall Weissert. Do we assume Tyler Samaniego has fallen out of favor since he’s behind both Burgos and the departed Seth Martínez on the depth chart? Ditto Rivera?
  10. I guess I assumed both were no longer there when the Sox called up Burgos and traded for Eli White…
  11. … for Rutschman. I am guessing he was a PTBNL contingent on when Adley got activated, with the Sox deciding to give up less if Rutschman lingered on the Injured List…
  12. I agree both Tiant and Evans are egregious omissions from Cooperstown. Not sure either is atop that list, but both are certainly on it…
  13. If only we could find a temporary LF someplace who wouldn’t require any big roster changes and had at least some demonstrated offensive potential like being a former AL Rookie of the Month. But where would such a player be found?
  14. If he clears waivers, he can be re-signed…
  15. The Sox have still gone like 32-9 wuth those scrubs. That’s a full quarter of a season. The 1978 team was lead by 4 future Hall of Famers and didn’t have a 21-4 month like those scrubs did in July…
  16. In the last 4 games, the Sox have allowed 18 runs to score. 3 of them came after two outs with nobody on base. 9 of them were from baserunners that reached base before the first out. Not really surprising. Stop walking the leadoff hitter!
  17. I think wishing Duran get benched or demoted is a far, far cry from wanting him to using extreme and permanent methods to solve his issues. The same goes for highlighting his questionable intellect. Thanks to baseball, Jarren Duran has more commas in his bank account than most of us will ever know. He could have a very fine life post-baseball. But today, he is not helping this team and could/should be replaced. Except that he won’t be…
  18. Unless they view Anthony as a replacement for Yoshida. And they really should take away playing time from Duran this year. Yes or no?
  19. Nah. It’s a vestigial organ for Duran.
