    And that’s why after having an ERA over 8 in 3 of the final 4 months of the 2018 season (including September), Joe Kelly was obviously left off the postseason roster and was never able to put up that ERA of 0.50 across 18 October innings that he actually put up and helped the Sox to a title.     I’m talking about Eli White! The man whose favorite T shirt says “THE FATTER THE KID THE FULLER THE BOTTLE” Eaton lists his hobby as performing surgery on injured wild animals. Might help if he knew anything about veterinary medicine or had the proper instruments or at least something besides standard carpentry tools. But it’s the thought that counts…

    With his injury history, you have nothing to fear. Casas could be the subject of headlines like: ”Florida Man Injures Self By Trying Desperately to Not Injure Self” or ”Florida Man Maims Self With Round Rubber Ball, Bleeds Out”….

    There are a couple other solid candidates as well. I wonder how many folks realize Dillon Dingler is second in the AL in fWAR and his teammate and slam dunk ROY Kevin McGonagle is 4th. Sandwiched in between them is Bobby Witt. Junior Caminero is also a good candidate and is tied with Alvarez for the HR lead. But I will say I also didn’t realize the dropoff after Alvarez league-leading BA of .322. No other qualified player in the AL is hitting better than .307 (Chandler Simpson) and only 3 players in the AL are hitting over .300. (Yandy Diaz is the other.)

    He’s nothing special. I would bet against him morphing into Chris Sale after being traded to Atlanta if I could find anyone to wager against. My contention was White was redundant, and I doubted Breslow was thinking “we need a speedy right-handed hitting outfielder with a strong arm, but, and this is important here, absolutely no options.”
