  1. The definition of “compromise” is “[to come up with] a new alternative solution that nobody wanted.”
  2. Do you recall the nature of that blatantly silly post?
  3. Nah. I never freaked out and said you didn’t need to make a post. I just have to call you out for the childish act of misrepresenting the ideas (and yes, even sarcasm and jokes) of others as a method of discrediting them…
  4. All threads are catch-all. It’s the off-season and there’s only one thing to talk about…
  5. You freak out and demand to know exactly who needed it explained to them…
  6. No it doesn’t. Devers salary for 2023 had to be worked out one way or another. His future contract is in much greater doubt…
  7. I doubt anything is done about C and RF, unless they decide Verdugo needs to go for reasons related to his workout and practice regimens. SP? I agree it needs another arm, but not sure anything happens on that front either. I suppose they think the Crawford/Mata/Walter/Murphy/etc. troop provides enough depth. 2b or SS is a must add. That Wendle isn’t here even after Miami replaced him as a starter suggests either their price is too high or the Sox interest was exaggerated…
  8. Again, you failed to read that properly…
  9. Seabold has yet to impress. But hey, what do you expect for two months of aging mediocre journeyman relievers?
  10. Those are the trades every GM struggles with…
  11. Absolutely I’d say he can be a good RP. I’d prefer they try him in that role this year. I’ll say it - I think he could outperform Barnes…
  12. Yes he’s not perfect. And Rafaela had K rates of 24% in high A and 20% in AA. Both players have promise and pitfalls…
  13. Again, 98 career IP…
  14. Posters of course. The same people who are giving up on Winckowski after 70 IP…
  15. Elvis Andrus still needs work…
  16. Rafaela plus Dalbec for Edward Cabrera and Wendle…
  17. Dalbec was already expendable. Voit is useless. I’d rather have Hosmer back…
  18. Brett Baty would have worked out but he went and got hurt…
  19. The whole thing was probably more complicated than we realize…
  20. It’s not that the Sox are not spending; they’re just not spending the way fans want. They’ve spent over $150mill so far this off-season on Yoshida, Jansen, Martin, Joely Rodriguez and Justin Turner…
  21. One possibility is the Sox wanted Bogaerts, just not as a a shortstop. This is basically what they also did with Devers, per every report. If Bogaerts was not open to changing positions, that means the Sox had 3 options: 1. Give in and let him play SS (or at least tell him he will and force him to change later) 2. Walk away 3. Change the years of the deal (since presumably the money would already align with his new position).
  22. No one knows. Maybe they bugged it. Maybe there were other factors…
  23. The bottom line is no one knows what went down and why behind the end result - Sox didn’t sign Bogaerts. Just about everything added on to that is nothing but speculation and dismissal of theories that introduce doubt…
  24. But all you’re doing is regurgitating the opinons of a bunch of other people who aren’t in the room, or other people quoting that same crowd. This might be a shocking revelation, but sports talk shows that are at their core editorial opinions really are not established fact. Not saying who is historically right, but if you’re entire counter argument rests on “but all these other people agree with me” is absolutely not establishing any facts that support your side…
  25. One thing we do know is that is not happening. To me, this comes down to who Miami does offer…
