  1. All I’m saying is he’s ahead of Goodrum…
  2. He’s emergency depth. Bottom line is he’s probably ahead of Goodrum merely because he’s on the 40-man, which was the entire point. He’s also probably behind Valdez for MIF duty…
  3. I missed the article. My bad…
  4. Arroyo is also a SS. A backup 2b works out just the same..
  5. It’s not like the Sox need a starter. Dalbec is a viable MIF backup option. Not sure why Valdez hitting left-handed disqualify him, as he’d be the only LHH option for middle infield. My point is Goodrum is far from a lock to be added. I could see adding pitching depth instead…
  6. Why not just call up Valdez and go with him, Arroyo and Kike? Or Dalbec, whom Cora also seems to like trying at 2b or SS? The path for Goodrum isn’t so clear…
  7. Kike, Arroyo, Hamilton and Rafaela all have SS experience. Not all are Ozzie Smith out there, but that doesn’t change if they activate Niko Goodrum. The Sox could activate an OF (Tapia) or they could activate Alfaro, which might free up Wong to play 2b/3b/OF, as he has done all that in the minors. Of course, Cora has shown a willingness to play Dalbec at 2b and SS. The Sox might not activate anyone and also have the option of using the Story’s 40 man slot to add some pitching depth (Fulmer? Wacha? Reyes? Whisker? Bundy?) And hey, if they want to contend right away, Bloom could sell his immortal soul and sign Trevor Bauer..
  8. It’s his Laffer’s Curve for when it becomes worthwhile to work…
  9. That’s MY POINT!!!!
  10. I forgot about your soft spot for parking personnel…
  11. I’ll drop the bat boys and hot dog vendors. But I think we need to keep security and parking lot attendants. Deal?
  12. And he will have a reduced total if the Sox get 260 IP from Sale and Paxton…
  13. The thing is, defending DD is fine. I’ll probably comment on him again at some point in my life. If you defend him then, I get it. It’s the entire purpose of forums like this. But at some point the line gets crossed and the comments get centered around the poster and not the current or former executive…
  14. That site also projected 260 IP from Sale and Paxton. Now if the Sox get 260 IP from that pair, good things can happen. But I think that total might be a bit optimistic…
  15. Critiquing players, coaches, executives, announcers, etc.is all 100% acceptable. Also acceptable is critiquing medical personnel, security, bat boys, hot dog vendors, and parking lot attendants. But not the fandom of other fans…
  16. I (obviously) don’t know Elvis Andrus, but per B-R he has made well over $130mill in his career, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he had a price and anything less, he stays home with the family…
  17. Far from it!! But it’s steady work at good pay and you don’t have to do any heavy lifting…
  18. Maybe he just wants to spend time at home with the kids…
  19. Plant a land mine! Start a Fight Club!!
  20. You don’t even need to go back to the pink hat stuff. This off-season we had 3 primary topics. 1) Devers 2) Bogaerts 3) Other people’s fandom…
  21. No. It’s a standalone statement that need not be specific to anyone. Also, it makes no point one way or another about one’s fandom…
  22. Plant a tree! Start a book club!
  23. And that might be another factor. Maybe when teams can place players on the 60 day Injured List, they’ll start signing again…
  24. I think for some - especially the pitchers - the strategy is to see who gets injured in spring training…
  25. It is fairly commonplace on here…
