  1. That is the main purpose of free agency…
  2. Why wait? Fans of shoddy corner infield defense?
  3. They might be best in LF (which really applies to almost every outfielder) but right now Duran ranks number two on the Sox CF Defense Depth chart. If Rafaela is the starter in CF, Duran could also be trade bait. And Verdugo is fine in RF. If the OF winds up being Duran-Rafaela-Verdugo - also certainly possible - then adding a RH bat many want simply might not happen…
  4. I don’t think the Sox OF alignment is set at all right now. They might actually need a LF, and if the goal is a RHH, to here are more options for LF than RF. If Yoshida moves to DH, the Sox still have Duran, Verdugo, Abreu, Refsnyder and Rafaela. Refsnyder is a role player and clearly not a starter. Duran - will he move to LF or will he play CF? I don’t eliminate the latter possibility. Verdugo - traded by many already, but until he is he’s on the Sox next year. He’s expressed an interest in being extended. The guy who ignored that request is gone. Rafaela - Cora did say his future is in CF, but that’s not the same as anointing him starting CF in April 20/4. Really it could just mean no more 2b or SS. He might starting in CF in Boston in 2024, but he also might start the year in Worcester. Abreu - like Rafaela, has the option of opening 2024 in Worcester. Reportedly capable at any OF position, but we shall see. An OF of O’Neil-Duran-Verdugo isn’t exactly out of play at this point…
  5. So you’re saying he didn’t trade any top prospects when the Sox didn’t have any top 100 prospects?
  6. DD absolutely traded top prospects. Just because they didn’t become All Stars doesn’t change their prospect status…
  7. It’s all Air Bud with you…
  8. Or Verdugo straight up…
  9. He’s used to it. That’s typical for Pirates’ road game accommodations…
  10. It does. RHH. 30 HR power. Two Gold Gloves. Struggled with injuries the last couple years and St. Louis keeps bouncing around the OF. Keep him in LF where he belongs…
  11. Duvall is a very good option…
  12. So I can assume no posts and you’re just making up a backstory to fit your rhetoric again?
  13. That .229 hitting outfielder was coming off a 4.9bWAR/4.8fWAR season. It was a good trade for both teams…
  14. Do we have any posts where someone said Henry told Bloom not to trade prospects? Anyone?
  15. He can teach pitchers how to get injured!!
  16. Trade for Tyler O’Neill?
  17. So no Adam Frazier?
  18. There’s no evidence for “A” so that proves “B”!!! We don’t know Bloom’s marching orders. All we have are theories…
  19. And one named his MLB player son after the other. RIP Andujar Cedeno 1969-2000
  20. Also someone call Henry and tell him I’m declining my interview…
  21. Who’s starting the “Fire Craig Breslow” thread?
  22. Actually it have been too bad. As long as they have someone hired before the World Series ends their fine…
  23. From this article [Casas] has 29 home runs in his first 159 major league games and has walked at a 14.9% clip, but his glovework isn’t strong either, perhaps leading him and Devers to someday co-exist via the designated hitter slot.. They might as well just have used the name “Matt Chapman” as a proposed solution…
  24. That’s it too. fWAR is beneficial to pitchers with lots of strikeouts and not so many walks or home runs. But pitchers who specialize in getting groundballs can be just as effective, but take a hit on FIP and subsequently on fWAR…
