  1. lol. Mazz has been critical of all things Boston for a long time now, and is a blatant liar to boot. Why does the Boston media put up with this crap? I’m ok with negativity when it’s called for, but too many Boston sportswriters just live in this “must say bad things” world…
  2. Well, bear in mind someone from the American League has to go. If the Sox are not even contenders, who is? As weird as it sounds after a very slow April and May, Boston has the third best season record in the American League, tied with Chicago. As good as or better than every team in the AL Central and AL West. The only two teams with better records are Tampa and New York, and Boston completed four game sweeps of both of them recently. So why aren’t the Sox contenders?
  3. The Mets are not moving Soto, and, no, they are not selling everything off to rebuild. They didn’t jack up the payroll to $350mill just to see if it worked for a year. The Mets will try to improve by dumping the underperforming players, not the performing ones..
  4. Even if we deal Arias, it likely means we kept Mayer. Story is a very likely DFA after the season unless he ends the year with some unlikely honor like World Series MVP…
  5. At what point in time was Hamilton properly evaluated as a “star”? His numbers have ALWAYS been better in Boston. And with those numbers here, he was a player - and I paraphrase - many wanted traded to prevent Cora from starting him. But he puts up worse numbers in Milwaukee, but has one good game against Boston, and he’s a star? Give me a break. That’s not comparable to switching from sell to buy after a 21-4 stretch. Not even close. And comparing us to published journalists is also ridiculous…
  6. Anyone still complaining about the Harrison trade should have their NESN subscription permanently revoked. The Sox are coming off their best month in their 123 year history, and 3/4 of their current starting infield for came from that one trade. It’s been more than worth it…
  7. Mostly because the Boston sportswriter community is a firm believer that bad news is the only news that sells. It doesn’t matter how the Sox are actually doing, as long as we keep saying bad things. I mean, Hamilton? Boston: 79 OPS+ Milwsukee: 77 OPS+ Which Boston sports “journalist” called him a star in Milwaukee?
  8. Of the two, it’s far more likely Narvaez is in a short term funk. O’Hoppe has seen his OPS drop by large chunks for 3 straight years. Narvaez was hitting as recently as 12 months ago…
  9. And Washington gets well compensated for it. James Wood was one of the lower ranked names they got for Soto, and just 4 years later, he’s almost Soto’s equal. Personally, I say call up Arias.
  10. Luis Robert is capable of getting injured by getting traded. Fill out those forms very carefully…
  11. f*** Abrams. Washington isn’t moving him for any reason other than to stockpile young talent and makeover their franchise. I mean, that is how they got him in the first place. Of Neto and Abrams, I prefer Neto. Sure, the Angels are trying to do the same thing, but unlike the Nationals, at least they suck at it…
  12. This is the loss. López is probably the best combination of offense and defense among the SS targets…
  13. Boston says no. Or they better. Mayer for two players with a combined age just weeks shy of 80?
  14. Craig keeps ignoring me, but the Sox have a leadoff type LF in Worcester with a .377 OBP this year. What’s a couple games gonna hurt? Sox don’t even have to DFA anyone to get him on the 40 man. (I mean, Brett Harris has a couple PA for Boston this year. Exactly what did he do to get them?. And Braiden can’t get a shot?)
  15. Most of that has nothing to do with Arias. The Sox are not promoting their star infield SS prospect because Duran and Narvaez are struggling. That said, I’d rather give Arias a chance than deal for Neto or Abrams…
  16. If they have faith in Arias, Mayer does become expendable…
  17. I know. I was saying no one has saud Hes not on Craig’s Signal chats…
  18. I did not read that. Apologies. It happens in this type of forum. <sigh> Thsts what happens when you talk to your wife and child, and why I advise against it. So yes he is not FA. Sad, he was such a good fit. Rental options in this FA class are beyond boring. Springer? Hes a fit, and worthwhile if Anthony comes back. Gurriel might be. And Luis Robert, who hasn’t been good since 2023. And Taylor Ward. Assuming Baltimore actually sells. Just brings me back to two months ago asking for our Spring Training hero Braiden Ward…
  19. I actually don’t trust Adell as a starting LF. He’s a glorified JJ. Lateky I have found the best fit for LF to be JJ. But not ours, Bleday. Seems unlikely since I think Breslow is more wrapped up in SS, which, why bother? Promote Arias until the injured folks start returning. Move Monasterio to 2b until 3 days after he stops hitting. And get a real LF from Cincinnati.
