  1. Did they ever announce that? Or is his name being thrown around because other teams keep asking for him?
  2. In 34 IP. Don’t forget that part...
  3. Syndergaard is typically worth about 5 fWAR per season. ERod is usually worth closer to 2.5 fWAR. And even going beyond advanced metrics, Syndergaard is much, much better...
  4. I don’t think the Mets are hellbent on trading Syndergaard. In fact, it looks like their refusal to part with Syndergaard was the big hold up in that three-team Realmuto trade...
  5. For Swihart and Johnson, Robert Gsellman might be more realistic than Wheeler...
  6. It's not official yet... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/12/dodgers-close-to-deal-with-joe-kelly.html
  7. I don’t see the Mets going for that. And the Sox need to target relievers anyway...
  8. Just more Gorkys-mania...
  9. That’s because they’re not a couple...
  10. I imagine the entire hold up is Happ wanting the third year guaranteed...
  11. But how will the season be?
  12. I’m sure they’d greatly prefer to move Knebel or Jeffress over Hader, assuming they move any of their relievers at all...
  13. If there is such a deal, it would be worth considering? But what would such a deal look like?
  14. Cuter than Gorkys? Is that possible?
  15. To accommodate Vazquez and/or Leon, who should realistically own that spot in the order...
  16. Or bulk up a thread by endlessly talking about posting and ignoring the topic...
  17. Subscription required...
  18. There are ways around that requirement. The selecting team and team losing the player can and often do work out a trade or cash settlement, which then allows the player to be demoted. But the Marlins non-tendered all their first basemen (Bour, Dietrich) and haven’t exactly been actively pursuing replacements. As Ockimey was in AAA last year, he’s close to MLB and one of the more prominent 1b candidates left unprotected. And he checks all the right boxes the Marlins require - meaning he plays for minimum wage...
  19. Juan Centeno made his MLB debut in 2013 with the Mets...
  20. I blame Rosenthal for prematurely leaking this one. But if it happens, does it kill any interest in Kluber, Bauer or Syndergaard? This looks like settling to me...
  21. At best, he’s a mid-season call up. He’s not on the 40 man roster and his minor league deal guarantees Pawtucket to start. If the Sox deal Bradley - which I would call unlikely - that could clear up a bench spot for Swihart. Although I would expect the Sox to get a OF//DH type before the season, because I don’t think the plan is to make Steve Pearce the everyday DH with JDM moving to LF. At least I hope not. And I don’t think Swihart gets that role, either...
  22. ... 3 years. Money undisclosed...
  23. So ... thoughts on who makes MLB debuts this season? Lakins seems obvious, since he is on the 40 man roster and the Sox likely use a ton of relievers, like every team does. Anyone else? Thoughts?
  24. On this board or the minor league board? Also when this transaction was announced on MLBTR, the reactions in their posts were largely along the lines of “so Bradley is getting traded?” The purpose here is to quash that foolish idea that Gorkys Hernandez was signed to replace an outgoing Bradley...
  25. It’s more about DD’s willingness to listen. These players are not being marketed so much as just no longer untouchable...
