  1. Despite his good month, I'm not on the "Sam Travis as a Major Leaguer" bandwagon just yet...
  2. I was kidding. The Fake Moon Landing conspiracy is among the funniest, because as far as I can tell, it benefits no one. If you watch the documentary about Flat Earthers, they frequently reference the NASA conspiracies about how they're keeping the true shape of the Earth quiet. What they never say is why or who benefits...
  3. Has that ever happened when the “rest day” wasn’t based on a matchup with a tough lefty?
  4. I think it does give them a better chance and willingness to spend. Don’t you?
  5. I think this “rest day” is so overblown. The only teams with 3 players who have more games played this year than the Sox have gotten from Betts, Bogaerts and Devers are the Braves (Acuna, Freeman, Albies) and the Phillies (Harper, Hoskins, Hernandez). Theres actually a better argument that Cora isn’t resting his key players enough...
  6. Hey you never saw Cal Ripken or Lou Gehrig or Everett Scott take a “rest day,” did you? That’s back when men were men!! Betts is tied for the MLB lead in games played this year, and Devers is in the top ten. Bogaerts is 17th...
  7. And it was against the Angels. I can see the argument that games against Tampa, Cleveland and Oakland are more critical games to win. But against the teams behind them? None are more important than the others...
  8. And if Sale is out for the season (not the case yet, I know), does it really matter who the last two starters are?
  9. If Sale is going to miss 2020, a Porcello return is more likely...
  10. Or read anything by David Icke...
  11. I’m more on the “Marco as our utility infielder/new Brock Holt” bandwagon, with maybe Chavis as the 2b. But yeah, Owings sucks...
  12. Slow down. Who said we landed on the moon?
  13. The Dodgers spend a to of money and haven’t won one since before the A’s last title and before Tampa came into existence...
  14. Bear in mind it’s more a statement about the performance of Porcello than of the ability of Shawaryn...
  15. And Shawaryn actually might prove to be just as good or better than Porcello has been this year. Although I’m not a huge Shawaryn fan. He’s a middle reliever at best...
  16. It is very parallel to Flat Earth theory. Despite the mountains of evidence, some people just believe the Sox farm system is as good as any other team’s because, well, they want to. The Sox farmsystem does suck. That doesn’t mean it has no Major Leaguers in it anywhere. But it does mean there are likely very few who will ever make an impact. But we can all sit back and hope we have the next Aristides Aquino...
  17. There’s only two ways for that to happen. 1. Let some of them play. 2. Readily admit most are better than Chris Owings
  18. The counter argument here is maybe some of the best players aren’t the ones currently in Boston...
  19. Slasher refuses to wave the white flag. Good for him!
  20. Sale hasn’t been much of a boon in that department anyway...
  21. Watch “Beyond the Curve” for a great documentary about Flat Earthers. Although admittedly the documentary does ignore the present state of the Sox farm...
  22. The only way Sale signs an extension at the end of the season is if something like this happens. If the Sox wanted him back, they got him at the last legitimate opportunity...
  23. Are you sure Owings isn’t a pitcher? He certainly hits like one...
  24. It’s all in my application form...
  25. Tony Armas never pitched a game for the Red Sox, but his contribution was immeasurable since he was a key component in trading for Pedro Martinez. Reportedly Steinbrenner was furious over Boston’s acquisition and asked his front office how they couldn’t get Pedro. He was told “because we didn’t have Armas,” whom they dealt to Boston for Mike Stanley...
