The Bartman saga was a particularly odd one.
He was reviled in Chicago, where the Chicago Sun Times (motto: “A 2-ply newspaper for your comfort”) actually ran a story the next day giving out his name, home address, and work address. And our governor/felon Rod Blagojevich publicly suggested he enter witness protection.
All Bartman did was act like a fan before the incident and become immensely classy afterwards. Marlins fans offered him money, which he donated to charity. Other fans raised money via GoFundMe to bring him to 2015 and 2016 postseason games. Bartman donated that money, too. The Cubs even offered him a chance to throw out the first pitch in the 2016 World Series and, later, an opportunity to be in the celebratory parade. Bartman declined everything. (Seriously.)
And as far as anyone knows, he has never returned to Wrigley...
