  1. Fans? Sure. Dombrowski? Think so?
  2. Agreed. All that’s missing is Buzzfeed for the trifecta of unsubstantiated sensational news...
  3. I bet it hasn’t even been discussed...
  4. They do seem to be relying less on Brasier...
  5. It’s the stuff Belichick doesn’t say that has the most significance...
  6. Other than selling low on Benintendi, which of those players will bring back a “useful piece”? Even with his recent hot streak, Bradley still has miserable season-long Numbers, an $8.9mill salary, and one year left to earn even more money via arbitration. The Sox might consider moving Porcello, who is their best chance at getting anything worthwhile...
  7. I didn’t want Kimbrel back on a 6 year deal, but a 3 year deal would have been fine with me...
  8. Well if losing your backup point guard doesn’t offset the loss of Durant then I don’t know what does...
  9. Well, it’s different for me since I’m surrounded by Cubs’ fans...
  10. Kimbrel was great for Boston. But he moved on from us and me from him. I’d no sooner root for a former Sox player just because than I would attend an ex-girlfriend’s wedding...
  11. You keep re-iterating that 2 run single line, as if a 2 run single and a 2 run home run come from the same circumstances. How about a 2 run single and a 3 run home run?
  12. So infield singles should count the same as HRs?
  13. Batting average doesn’t reflect contact, and certainly does quantify the value of the contact. And maybe it’s time to abandon the notion that a .300 hitter is some sort of revered feat. Joey Wendle and Corey Dickerson hit .300 last year. Jose Ramirez didn’t. Why do we attach a special accomplishment to Wendle or Dickerson? Are they better hitters than Ramirez?
  14. That’s actually not all that impressive. I know the Sox had lower top picks, but the only time they came up with at least an even share was in the Fangraphs Top 200...
  15. Honeywell makes Jason Groome look like Cal Ripken...
  16. Whether you like OPS or not, it is a far, far better barometer than batting average as standalone numbers go...
  17. No love for The Sandlot, Long Gone and Little Big League?
  18. The Angels wouldn’t do that deal at gunpoint. But maybe in the off-season the Sox can do something like a Duran/Dominic Smith trade to replace Moreland cheaply, assuming Duran is deemed a significant enough prospect and the Mets like him...
  19. Babe Ruth played in an era where the home run rules were so different, he should have been the one with the asterisk...
  20. Least of the worries, but he needs to get it going...
  21. It was a comparison of 3b prospects. Except Chavis, who plays 2b...
  22. Trout!!! Or did you want realistic names?
  23. Or.... not bringing the completely irrelevant Groome up at all might have been objective...
  24. Do you think other GMs don’t have Google? Actually if you sell anyone high, it’s Duran. A .472 BABIP is completely unsustainable and very likely means he is all or part illusion. And yet he can still bring back more in a trade...
