  1. He might like Weber - heck, he clearly does- but the chances of a 30 year old career minor leaguer with no options left passing through waivers unclaimed are somewhere between 99% and 101% ...
  2. Sometimes I think he’s playing solitaire...
  3. It’s clearly fake. Bloom first sign right-handed pitchers. You know that. But if he made those moves and added some bullpen depth, I’d be good with it. I am starting to have some doubts about Bloom, mostly because Ryan Weber is still in this team despite his being a 30yo AAAA pitcher with no options left. How do you DFA Lakins and keep Weber?
  4. Clearly the Mets dialed the wrong number. Later this week, expect them to announce their new manager Dusty Barker...
  5. How about this: 1. Trade Jackie Bradley for Jake Lamb 2. Sign Yasiel Puig and move Mookie to CF 3. Sign Jeremy Hellickson to a MiLB contract. Puig is crazy, but the man can flat out play. After this off-season, if the Sox want to compete, maybe they need to roll the dice on the highest upside player still in the market...
  6. No Yasiel Puig?
  7. I’ve mentioned Baker as a candidate. The problem with him is that his phone is ringing off the hook this past week...
  8. At that point, you move on. We don’t even know yet if there is a mess to drag anyone in to. It’s interesting that Roenicke is already implicated, and according to some, these scandals clearly involve upper management and ownership, which should implicate Tek. But going outside (where you really don’t know what the guy was doing) is how the Sox got into this mess. Just promote Roenicke and move on. He’s been around the league and even managed teams before without any cheating scandals...
  9. My OCD tendencies had me thinking a good title for a Sox Blog would be “Anal Sox.” But then the Google searches might take a potential reader elsewhere to a far more distracting site...
  10. I do think a lot of people are ignoring Roenicke, who managed a low budget Milwaukee team to 335-313 record over 4 years. He might actually be a good choice. Certainly his experience is not bad at all...
  11. Tek to bench coach. Roenicke to manager. Move on...
  12. Did he have yuuuuuge boobs too?
  13. I don’t think any team in MLB history has been accused more often of electronic sign stealing than the Blue Jays. They had that team in 2000 where 7 of the 9 starting position players hit 20 or more home runs (and SS Alex Gonzalez has 15) with a massive advantage at home. Rumors were all over that team...
  14. Positive? I’ve actually heard only Roenicke’s name as an internal candidate...
  15. There was a rumor in Toronto a few years back about a “man in white” relaying signals to the Blue Jay hitters from the CF bleachers. Nothing ever came of it and no former Jay ever went public...
  16. I totally missed the Sox signing Mike Kickham. Kickham is 31, hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2015, has a career MLB ERA of 10.98 (30 IP), and, of course, is left-handed. Now there is no such thing as a bad minor league contract. But at some point, can we sign a right-handed pitcher to one?
  17. That there has been no public activity on the front makes me think it’s likely being handled internally. And might be further along then we realize...
  18. I do prefer the notion of “innocent until proven guilty” over “guilty upon first innuendo, and conspiracy if not otherwise proven”...
  19. I'd be quiet, you Resident of a Foreign Country with Oil...
  20. Not proof of anything. Plenty of pitchers still pitch from the stretch with runners on...
  21. I am available. My credits include developing the most accurate projection system ever - the notorious WAPM / UAPM.
  22. Lookl at the bright side, with all those errors in tee ball you probably “pitched” a few no-hitters...
  23. Only in the way they’re scored. But in reality, there are nothing but errors in tee ball...
  24. Yeah someone from the outside. Like Alex Cora...
  25. I don’t like the way politicians handle politics. Why do they think I want them meddling with baseball?
