  2. Exactly. Which is why he isn’ta good example to my question about whether or not a manager could be punished for cheating on a previous team...
  3. Not relevant. The Commissioner didn’t take any action against Beltran...
  4. If you are going to insist on a bilingual manager, Carlos Beltran in available...
  5. Whether or not the Mets fire a player is completely independent of whether or not the league can punish him for transgressions in a previous uniform...
  6. He’s worth a shot. But if the Sox want a LHH 1b, Bird shouldn’t be the only one they sign...
  7. Could he have been suspended from the Red Sox for what he did in Houston?
  8. How do you know Ron Roenicke isn’t bilingual? The guy has 4 years experience under his belt. Safe bet he talked to a Dominican player at some point in that tenure. And really, with maybe 4 weeks until pitchers and catchers report, whoever manages the Sox this year is likely to be considered an interim manager with the real search starting next year...
  9. That there have been absolutely no rumors might be an indication that the new hiring will be internal (Roenicke?) and they expect to be cleared of any wrongdoing in the current investigation...
  10. It’s a tough call. Would having a better roster make for a more attractive opportunity for a managerial candidate? Or will anyone left be desperate? Or are they all so egomaniacal that each one figures he and he alone can win it all with this current or any roster regardless of what history has shown? (I think it’s the last one myself, but it’s not like I’m basing that on anything.)
  11. I don’t think it’s a matter of trying. We all suspected he’d be limited financially and he’s actually been acting just as if that was the case...
  12. As opposed to the major moves he was making before Cora was fired?
  13. And it all started with Osich, a lefty Bloom acquires twice...
  14. I like the Bloom hire and get the limited activity. I just wonder why nearly all of his acquisitions to date have been high strikeout left-handed relief pitchers...
  15. Lakins is a righty. Lefties only with Bloom..
  16. That because any rumor about the Red Sox = proof. However, rumors about the Yankees are unsubstantiaed lies, even after Andy Pettitte confesses...
  17. Inside information on the Mets, sure. On the Astros? Not looking good...
  18. Apparently the Sox will be throwing it left-handed...
  19. But how many high-strikeout AAAA left-handed pitchers do the Sox need?
  20. Wow! Spot on. I’ve heard him say that so many times...
  21. I see you can do a Yankee fan. Now do Jack Nicholson!
  22. That’s actually true. So far all the evidence we know of rests on the hiring of former Astros. But jacko’s already stripped the Sox draft picks while exonerating the Yankees...
  23. You’re paraphrasing in a way to make it more suspicious. Cora never said those s bolder words. Now he did say “I was joking when I said Carlos Beltrán was their biggest free agent acquisition” and then went on about details. Sure, he absolutely could have been alluding to cheating. Or he might have meant something else. They did do things besides cheat together, and Beltrán seems to draw praise from everyone everywhere. My mind is open on all this and while I admit I have some strong suspicions, there is a chance I’m wrong. And that doesn’t mean anything is being covered up. Of course, it doesn’t eliminate the possibility either;)
  24. The league dismissed that as BS. They should have. “Beltran’s niece” tweeted about it happening after Beltrán left the team. It’s not only doubtful the Astros kept them Yankee employee Beltrán in the fold if new cheating methods, it’s even more doubtful they kept his niece up to date...
  25. I’m all for trashing the Yankees. But again, isn’t there the possibility that Cora called him that because he likes and respects Beltrán? Or do you think all dirty players like to drop public hidden clues of the guilt? Now I can acknowledge EVERYTHING you have said on this subject might be right. Some of it probably is. But can you acknowledge the opposite possibility - that you are 100% incorrect?
