  1. I am surprised the Sox did not just have Whitlock's rights included in the deal...
  2. In 2019, Puello did have 6 DRS in CF in only 148 innings. That total alone tied him for 10th in MLB with 3 other players (including Marisnick) who all played 687 innings or more...
  3. ... which we might be sending back to them to complete the trade...
  4. No, because she always freezes in place every time she throws to first...
  5. I'm putting my money on Payamps and Springs...
  6. ..which means they are not in the same situation. Also, unlike us, they have a bullpen...
  7. Well, you have to imagine how bad mine would be. I think a big factor is his reduced number of games. Hard to accrue those defensive wins when you are not on the field. But his DRS totals are actually typically very good...
  8. You're all high on Taillon, but not enough to give up the MLB.com #48 prospect?
  9. And the reason we do not have enough starters is two of our two 5 have shown the inability to pitch a full season these past few years. So why are we forcing them into roles where they have to?
  10. Or Richards...
  11. Well, the Sox need his stellar RF and hitting abilities. The insanity just makes those skills more affordable...
  12. Puig? He’s like a combination of Dwight Evans and King George III...
  13. If “his wad” was a $7mill AAV contract, then maybe expectations need to be lowered in the face of an obvious budget crunch...
  14. Sign Puig! He’s like Ozuna, but less money and more crazy!!
  15. Robert Osuna and his torn UCL are not part of the solution. Bloom reportedly has no budget. This means he is not allowed to sign Springer or Bauer...
  16. It’s a simple site that compares future values of players based on projected performance and salary. It’s a simple model, and basically it says “the more money a player makes, the harder he is to trade.” Not sure why so many try to criticize this simple model and think they have better ones. Teams themselves undoubtedly have their own models, but I bet they don’t function all that much differently...
  17. Think Jarrod Parker, a mega-talented pitcher whose career was derailed due to requiring the surgery so many times that a case could be made for renaming it Jarrod Parker Surgery...
  18. If Taillon was “gonna be a Porcello”, he wouldn’t be recovering from an injury in the first place...
  19. Why get both Pillar and Marisnick? I could see Almora (BABIP-fueled bounce back/breakout?) over one of them. But if the Sox need a 4th OF, Arroyo or Chavis can be used to push Kike out there...
  20. I’d love to get John Means from them...
  21. I’d like to see them sign enough pitchers to push Brice and Valdez to Worcester. (Does Brice have options? If not, then DFA.)
  22. Hernandez has averaged 248 PA/fWAR over the past 3 seasons. Jurickson Profar has averaged 271PA/fWAR over the past 3 years. Both players received $7mill AAV, but Hernandez got fewer years despite performing slightly better...
