I wouldn't have minded adding Hamels, but I'm not going to pretend he would have been anything beyond a minor depth piece at this stage of his career. Not like this is 2016 and he is still a difference-making arm. I'm not sure he is any better than Richards and I doubt he will be any better than Perez...

JD Martinez has an OPS+ of 142 with the Boston Red Sox, and that team should do everything possible to replace his production with the career OPS+ of 117 of Kyle Schwarber (whose bat might get too much praise considering he has 0 PA for the Sox to date). After all, Schwarber is younger and still manages to get hurt more often than Martinez. And might be more expensive, too. It’s the Tri-Fecta!!

Wilson is gone. They were never going to DFA Dalbec . Rosario and Cordero make Wilson redundant. And did so to the point where his 40 man spot was more valuable than he is. Even if they see Wilson as a viable 4th outfielder, that’s not a difficult position to fill externally…

Actually he did come up as a catcher. Not a good catcher, but a catcher nonetheless. He would certainly be the emergency catcher
