    Fenway does have a pretty bad effect on BABIP, as balls hit 20 feet up the monster are considered balls in play, and obviously not going to result in a fly out. But the Sox E-F does bear out that the team defense is overall not helping anyone…

    And one could add Bryce Harper to that list. While he did technically go to junior college, he did so by dropping out of high school after his sophomore year, getting his GED and then attending a JuCo, all for the sole purpose of getting drafted a year earlier, and therefore would probably be the youngest player on this list at the time of the draft. Of course, I still wonder how many busts? Because the number of busts vs success stories determines your historical odds of success (which, on draft day, are meaningless)...

    Over the past 30 days, Sox starters have a 5.24 ERA, which ranks 12th in the AL. But their starter FIP over that same stretch is 3.97, which is 5th in the AL. Their team E-F is second in the AL.

    Depends what you mean by “produced.” ERod was acquired as a minor leaguer, and pitched in the minors for Boston. Does that count?

    It is an excellent point, especially since I have clearly been overlooking Wilson. Interestingly, while Duran’s home/road splits clearly show a Polar Park bias, Wilson’s are about as equal as can be with a .968 home OPS and a .941 road OPS. With Wilson already on the 40 man roster, one might think he should have an advantage in being called up first. Especially since his defense is not as questionable…

    I doubt the Sox put Potts on the 60 day IL and start his MLB service time. More likely they DFA/trade/release Marcus Wilson...
