  1. Not sure why the bonehead Manfred just refuses to enforce an existing pitch clock rule (5.07©)that would have solved his biggest issue, and instead has just butchered the game beyond recognition. I imagine by season’s end, Manfred’s poor decisions and attempts to fix them will end up with MLB banning balls and bats altogether, and teams will be forced to resort to rock-paper-scissors to conclude the season and postseason…
  2. He doesn’t look like much in the way of trade bait after that. What’s Bloom’s sales pitch supposed to be? “We know he’s not very good when he’s healthy, but at least he gets injured a lot.”
  3. I know Houck and Whitlock are both being groomed to start, but they could also be an extremely effective duo of game-shortening relievers…
  4. Replace Barnes with Houck. I have questions about Houck as a starter, but I have faith he could be a lights out reliever…
  5. Especially since Swihart isn’t even dead yet…
  6. To who? Blue Cross Blue Shield? Groome might be the first player to get injured merely by being traded…
  7. Or we could pretend his MLB service time path is blocked by Martin Perez and Nick Pivetta…
  8. Actually it was Mark, but don’t tell Al…
  9. Oops. Would it be believable to say I was doing a head stand in my yoga class when I checked that?
  10. FIP and xFIP are both half a run lower on the road for his career.
  11. Because his dad was a Yankee!!
  12. At some point, does it become relevant that neither Aiken nor Appel ever pitched in the majors?
  13. Mark Appel would be another precedent…
  14. While I like this team so far, it’s really not a winning season until we get that 82nd win. There’s still a long way to go….
  15. Prior to his UCL tear in 2020, he was also 37 years old…
  16. Jon Gray outside of Coors might be worthwhile…
  17. While good, sometimes you find yourself paying for Justin Verlander but getting Justin Masterson…
  18. Boone might never manage at the MLB level again. Cashman will be getting offers as he walks out of the owner’s office….
  19. Another name I toyed with was Dexter Fowler. He did have a lot of mediocre seasons, however…
  20. … and has already accrued 2.1 fWAR!! Third highest total on the team, just ahead of some guy named Mookie!
  21. … until spending too much prevents you from extending Devers or Verdugo or…
  22. History has shown that managers go before GMs. If Cashman gave Boone a team good enough to win and Boone can’t win, he’s likely gone…
  23. How about Chris Taylor? Former infielder. Since 2019 has similar K/BB, top ten in BSR, good ISO (.201). Peaked at 4.8 fWAR, but has had issues with PT in a stacked Dodger lineup…
  24. He’s also a better defender. But he is, when healthy, a 4-6 fWAR player…
  25. Fair enough. Great if true…
