  1. Bello gets 2 breaks on that AB. 3-1 pitch was a checked swing foul on a ball 6 inches inside. Still walks him.
  2. No, he’s just a guy who relishes negativity. Has he posted his “I’m outa here” message.
  3. Cora is still owed around $17M through 2027. Henry isn’t going to pay him to do nothing. The bottom line is more important than results to JH. IMO, Cora is probably not the right guy for this young roster; he’s better with a veteran group.
  4. Weissert needs a week off. 39 appearances in 81 games is way too much for any reliever.
  5. Good game by Crochet tonight. Not his sharpest but you can’t argue with the results. Now, how do you get it home? Who pitches the 8th? I’m guessing Weissert,
  6. That’s 4 called strike 3s tonight, and only Anthony’s in the first was not down the middle (that one was actually ball 4).
  7. Would have liked to have seen Rafaela slide into first there; it’s the only time you should.
  8. Campero has a really good accurate arm. That’s two throws from somewhat awkward positions that have made plays a lot closer than they should have been (the SF being the other).
  9. I think if Ref was playing the OF tonight, Abreu would have hit. Since he’s the DH, it’s a tougher call to replace him this early.
  10. Plus not a lot of loud contact. Anthony had a solidly hit fly ball and somebody hit a liner to left that took the LF to the track.
  11. Too early, and you might want him for D later (since Refsnyder is the DH).
  12. Just one person keeps bringing his amateur career up. We should be fair, TYPM is raising KC's high school resume (not Little League) and Georgia high school baseball is among the best in the country. That being said, other than getting you in the door, said resume has nothing to do with what an athlete does at the professional level. As mvp said, Campbell was sent to the minors; he's still on the 40 man roster
  13. A little snake bit this inning. That first hit was very lucky for the Halos. Two poor throws by Wong and Abreu. A perfectly placed ground ball single. He’s not exactly getting lit up this inning.
  14. Abreu has a great arm but he has no idea where he’s throwing it. An accurate one hopper there nails the runner at home.
  15. I’m still catching up on the game but through 6, the two Angel pitchers have combined for 16 different letters and 20 letters total in their last names.
  16. Easiest way to stop that is go in spikes first. It: a) emphasizes the blocking and b) fielder is unlikely to do it again
  17. Those fundamentals should have been taught at the amateur level and certainly in the minors. The one place they should not have to be learned is in the majors.
  18. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that at the amateur level (excluding college ball), any player who has the ability to play Major League Baseball is probably the best guy on the field by a long shot under any definition. Yes, Arenado/Chapman situations do occur, but they are extremely rare.
  19. The silliest thing about TYPM’s rebuttal is this insistence that Campbell hasn’t been allowed to play his primary position, which somehow TYPM thinks is SS. He hasn’t played short regularly since high school. KC has played in 36 professional game at short, starting 32 of them; he played none there in college (yeah, yeah, we know, upper classman). He has played in 144 professional games at 2B, starting 102 of them. Almost all of his college games were at second with a very few games in the of. Since graduating high school, if he has a primary position, it’s second base. The funniest line is he acknowledges Hamilton is better at 2B than SS (nobody’s going to argue that) while lamenting that Campbell grew up a SS. News flash ace, so did Hamilton and Gonzalez and virtually every other right handed infielder in MLB and a lot of the right handed outfielders as well. But somehow TYPM knows better than all the people actually paid to decide those things.
  20. They must consider Weissert totally expendable for the 2nd half. Today was his 38th appearance (he leads the league) in 79 Sox games to date. That is way too high a workload for any bullpen guy to remain effective.
  21. West Coast trips are never easy, and both Seattle and SF are pretty good teams. Before it started, I think virtually all rational fans would have signed up for 5-4 or 4-5 on this trip.
