  1. I doubt it, given the normal Oriole crowds and figuring a lot of no-shows due to weather, they probably paid more to the people manning the concessions than they made. I prefer to think it was Showalter being an ass.
  2. I agree, given the timing and forecast, it never should have begun.
  3. What else would you expect from Showalter? Guarantee that had it been any other opponent, the game never would have started.
  4. Pure chance. I was looking something up about Yaz on YouTube awhile back and came across this video:
  5. Little known fact: The last ball Yaz hit over then fence did not count when the game was rained out before it became official.
  6. You'd have to ask the Orioles that question.
  7. I'd rather they get wiped out than risk somebody getting hurt on that wet turf. And there was virtually no way Price was going to come back out, which would have meant 8 innings of pen with Johnson going tomorrow (which should mean 3-4 more innings for the pen.
  8. That's what Sutcliffe said on ESPN. Obviously they took a look at the radar and the field and decided it would not be possible to resume. And once the line-up cards are exchanged, the game is in the hands of the umpires.
  9. Pitch counts make so much more sense than innings. You can throw 40 pitches in 1 inning or that could be 3-4 innings work.
  10. The ESPN broadcast said they would wait until 1030 and take a look at the situation; if it looks like there’s a chance of starting up again, even if it’s at midnight, they will.
  11. Eovaldi also has that Yankee stench that seemingly so difficult to wash off.
  12. Then I would be a little concerned about the 11 homers Eovaldi has allowed in only 57 innings this year. Seriously folks, he’s here to fill the 4-5 slot in the rotation. A .500 record is fine from that spot. It also tells me they are not counting on Wright bring back any time soon (if at all) and that ERod is a lot more hurt than they are letting on.
  13. I didn’t see much of the first 4 innings, so I need to ask. Every pitcher hangs a breaking ball or two (sometimes they get away with it) but was the curve decent overall? You can’t dismiss the homers but was there something positive to take, even if it was just a couple of innings? Were the balls put in play ropes or just routine outs?
  14. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.
  15. In this slop I'm not casting aspersions on any body trying to get a grip on any hit ball.
  16. Certainly has seemed to since that triple play last year.
  17. IMO, he needs to get back to 2 pitches, fastball and one other. He's a 1-2 inning guy, he doesn't need 4 like a starter.
  18. I had no problem with him starting the inning against the bottom of the order. But given the conditions, they needed to have somebody up and ready at the first sign of trouble.
  19. I know you wouldn't, I'm saying what I think will happen. They are not rife with options right now.
  20. At the very least the Sox are 10-2 against the O's. Would you rather be the Yankees, who are 5-5?
  21. Pomeranz is going to get another couple of starts , but they aren't going to go much more than that if he doesn't show something.
  22. The problem is Velazquez is not stretched out.
  23. Unless this is a shower, this game is ovah.
