  1. So if the O's played "normal" against Boston, they would have 4-5 wins in the season series to date. Sweeping any team is tough, and even tougher in a 4 game set.
  2. I said it last night, but there are some here who expect perfection to start with and then improvement from there.
  3. They're 13-2 against the O's. How greedy do you really want to be (that's a rhetorical question)?
  4. Thought they said last night Sale was on a 60-70 pitch count today, which would be right where he's at.
  5. Got 2 at the Phillies first (Tueday and Wednesday). It was a tough pair with them at Fenway a couple weeks ago and its going to be a tough pair in Phiily.
  6. Actually, they want perfection to start with, and then improvement from there.
  7. Better he be in it now than later, but it is a concern.
  8. He's trying to provoke a reaction; don't humor him with one.
  9. And my point was that attitude is one reason the Sox blew that lead 40 years ago.
  10. Cuevas was added as the 26th man for the doubleheader; he's going back anyway. Sale will be activated and (probably) Workman goes down.
  11. Zimmer never rested guys or gave back-ups PT, unless the starter was hurt. The 78 Sox were on fumes in August/early September
  12. Sale aint going 9 tomorrow. You are probably going to need 2-3 guys Sunday. A good manager thinks of that. You don't manage in August the way you manage in late September/October
  13. No, he's managing the marathon, not the sprint.
  14. Both also pitched yesterday. Need people available tomorrow as well.
  15. Cuevas? A little surprising given the closeness of the game.
  16. I would assume Thornburg has the 8th and Kimbrel the 9th.
  17. I though he was too, but I looked it up. Wasdin appeared in 170 games for the Sox and only started 16.
  18. That is somewhat amazing in today's game. When I was a kid, I remember Ken Holtzman threw a no-hitter for the Cubs in which he did not strike out a batter.
  19. He threw 24 pitches last night though; he's geared to every 5th day right now, I'm amazed he was reasonably effective back to back days.
  20. Or the immortal Way Back Wasdin
  21. Velazquez doing what Velazquez does; lots of runners and often wiggles out of it cheap.
  22. Here's two that I made directly in response to you. I can't help it if you can't be bothered to read a thread while you're posting on it, https://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/18837-8-11-Sox-O-s-game-1?p=1175073&viewfull=1#post1175073 (Post 90 if it doesn't link directly) https://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/18837-8-11-Sox-O-s-game-1?p=1175110&viewfull=1#post1175110 (Post 116 if it doesn't link directly)
  23. He's been told that several times in the Game 1 thread. Doesn't understand the concept of a seperate admission doubleheader I guess.
  24. But a lot of Red Sox fans who live in the Baltimore-Washington area are planning on showing up (and there are a lot). Playing 2 tomorrow is no different than playing 2 today.
