  1. Define worse. Most stats they are about 4th overall
  2. Yup. Didn’t get that curve over early and never found it. Brasier may get hit but he won’t pitch scared.
  3. So has Happ. I like seeing pitchers get out of their own messes rather than looking to somebody else to do it for them
  4. Hicks made a great play deking Bogie there, and the angle was such that there wasn’t a thing Bogaerts could do about it. It prevented a run.
  5. So who would you have sent up?
  6. God you are insufferable. 103-47 and you still complain.
  7. Nah. Mostly cause it's not like that. The normal postwin "celebration" will be just fine; it will indicate a higher aim. Also, it would be the 3rd straight division, kind of a been there, done that thing.
  8. Except Betts IS injured, even if slightly. I want him as close to 100% as is possible for the postseason. It is not worth aggrevating further whatever he has.
  9. They also didn't feel a need to throw every pitch max effort. Feller could throw 100, but that doesn't mean he tried to do so on every fastball. He dialed it up when he needed to.
  10. Probably because his role going forward (at least for this season) will be out of the pen, and Cora needs to find out if a) Johnson can adapt to that role better than he showed earlier this year and does he adapt well enough to be on the postseason roster.
  11. I'm guessing they would go to 4-5 innings the next start and then 5-6 the one after that. Then maybe a short tune-up session in the last series (which all the starters may get).
  12. As he should be; at this point, it's almost like he's back in spring training.
  13. Sox didn’t score in the first; let the whining begin.
  14. He's earned the job? Off of what? Is it that .228 average or the .294 OBP or the .582 OPS?
  15. Price has had problems when he gets north of 90 pitches.
  16. Exactly. To paraphrase my Bull Durham reference, if Price thinks he pitches better with Leon behind the plate, then he does.
  17. Nope, Price allowed 3 hits as Davis got his first major league hit in the 6th.
  18. It's a better comparison than you think. Cy Young was a pretty good hitting pitcher, with a slash line of .210/.234/.516 in the deadball era. Leon over 7 years is .229/.293/.635 in a decidedly different era for hitting.
  19. Nice play by Devers; seems like most of his fielding problems occur on plays where he has time to think. If he just has to react, he is usually okay.
  20. Agreed. He's got all the numbers, traditional and modern.
  21. So what if he did? They have worked very well together all season, why mess with success?
  22. And has been the norm lately, later in the game he probably will.
