  1. Yeah, the type of guy you love on your team and hate in the opposition.
  2. Getting. 1-2-3 inning:D
  3. Kemp is starting to annoy me the way Brett Gardner does.
  4. He deserved better. Bregman’s hit was a seeing eye grounder and Gonzalez sounded like he broke his bat; he certainly didn’t hit it in the fat part of the bat. And he should have been out of the inning on Gurriel’s ball.
  5. Nunez costs them another run. He’s not good but he’s been better than this during the season.
  6. Sounded like Gonzalez broke his bat on that one
  7. Initially, I thought the first one was okay, until I noticed him grabbing the fielder's pants leg and pulling him down. The second was illegal and correctly ruled as such. Wide of the base, couldn't hold the base AND again reached for the leg. He did something similar to Gregorius last year IIRC. What I don't get is as a middle infielder, one would think he wouldn't like it when somebody does that to him. The other day in the game thread, some were talking briefly about Machado and Bregman. Bregman is a PITA but so far, it's because he's really good. He reminds me a little of Pedroia from a decade ago; Machado is a very talented punk.
  8. Correct Ted. I don't understand why so many people seem to think it's 2-2-1-1-1. Baseball has never used that rotation. They didn't even use it in the 50s when the only travel that was required most of the time was between the Bronx and Brooklyn. This isn't basketball or hockey, which generally isn't played on consecutive days and therefore allows for travel days. It's also why those postseasons last 2 months. The last time a seven game series didn't use 2-3-2 was during WWII, when war time travel restrictions forced a 3-4 format (was 2-3-2 in 1944 when it was an all St. Louis affair).
  9. I just hope whatever it is doesn’t spread (assuming it’s a legit illness)
  10. No, but he needs to work more often. 3 and 4 days between appearances is too much. They flashed the stat that his ERA on 3+ days of rest is over 6. On 2 or less days it’s around 1.50.
  11. Cora needs to use Kimbrel MORE often. ERAs on 2 or less days rest vs 3 or more is nearly a difference of 5 runs
  12. I use Kimbrel even if they get a couple more; he needs the work.
  13. Yes, he’s still battling a hamstring that he pulled in game 2 vs NY.
  14. He is really good, just not tonight. Wonder if he caught McCullers much this year?
  15. Playing with fire pitching around Bregman this much.
  16. Maybe not. Both Raffy and Nunez are pretty good on the backhand; both are weak glove side.
  17. Machado’s a douche. Bergman’s a guy I’d love to have on the Sox.
  18. Actually, that’s a call that would be almost impossible for a robot ump to make. Did it tick the bat, the dirt, the glove or some combination?
  19. Price out of bullets. Only at 80 pitches but 60+ of them have been high stress with guys on base. It’s the right move here.
  20. Pearce looks like he’s going to tear something on those stretches. Ouch.
  21. Be interesting to see next time up. If Cole’s still in the game, they gave to hit for him, especially if there’s runners.
  22. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ball roll along padding like that.
  23. Didn’t realize Kinsler is 2-26 lifetime against Cole. That is a mistake by Cora not to use Holt tonight.
