  1. We are at a point in this long season, where stats begin to mean something. For, that is, regulars. So, Betts has an OBP of .342 and an SLG of .527 Pedroia has an OBP of .372 and an SLG of .449 Why isn't Pedroia leading off, with Betts second? Or don't past performances mean anything? Just habit?
  2. Brentz has one of the worst 7 to i o'clock swings I've seen. Send him back until it beomes at least an 8 t0 2 o'clock swing. I don't know how he every makes contact.
  3. Why is Hannigan still around?
  4. No Mookie, again. I hope the familiar, "As Mookie goes, so go the Sox" reality doesn't hold today. (small sample, right?)
  5. I think so, too. But, I'm just an old, over-the-hill, 91 year old "rookie"; what do I know!
  6. Keep scoring! We're rain-safe!
  7. I hope the tarp guys are ready. My WIM shows a 1/2 hour squall starting about 9:11. Lasting 27 minutes!
  8. I think I heard Remy say we have had two walk offs this year. I'd like to know the number of attempts that failed. Anybody know? Actually I'm more concerned with Mookie's knee than either Erod or the 9th inning! Re/Erod, I don't see as much as I had hoped to see.
  9. I would love to see this line-up posted for Game One, World Series, 2016.
  10. This thread was started almost a month ago. Does anyone really think anybody will replace Leon as the starting catcher any time soon? This guy's hitting ability, from both sides of the plate get more obvious every day. He's similar to what we thought Panda was going to be. Kudos to whoever brought him into the fold! (And to JF for recognizing what he had.)
  11. 7/18---Gotta root for them against Baltimore. Won't hurt som much because they really stink this year, and will never get close to being in contentio
  12. We could have had Rich Hill, too! For NO prospects. Well, he might still do us some good. He pitches against Toronto this afternoon.
  13. Any body know how they pick these great kids?
  14. Not bad. There was some left/right thought put into the linup, as well as alternating speed and power.
  15. Since coming off the DL, this man has pitched 12 innings, given up 7 hits, 3 walks and has 16 K's. And given up 3 earned runs. The rumors have it that the Red Sox could have him back for very little. Will DD move and not worry about his mistake of letting him go in the first place? It's beginning to look that way. If Baltimore or Toronto grabs him, we can guess this year's AL East title good bye.
  16. 9:25 PM. Moncada just hit a s-run HR that is still goig. Dead left field. He has also singled and stole base. I found this game on MLB.com, and 5 minutes later Moncada homers! How's that for good luck
  17. Looks like Betts and Pedroia will end the half season each at .304!
  18. I think the Rays and Sox are now 4 & 4 this year. I have to listen to the Rays broadcast, here in Ft. Myers, so I didn't hear Eck's comments. Tell you the truth, he's getting very tiresome.
  19. Where's the thread? Game starts in 5 minutes! Tigers 3 Toronto 2---Final
  20. Try switching them next outing. Give Barnes the start, O' Sullivan in the pen to pick up the pieces.
  21. Had Hanley gor on, One pitch and he's gone!
  22. I think Brentz plus Hill Made a great re-fill
  23. Looks like Sully's last start--for this year anyway. No decent cyve or change-up. Maybe decent reliever, not a starter. He hasn't had the best of support, but stil----
