  4. If we end up with the 9th best rotation in MLB, we'll have a strong chance at making the playoffs, despite the fact that 4 of the 8 teams ahead of us are also in the ALE. I think we have a better pen and offense than a few ALE teams. Again, the D might be our downfall, despite some improvements, on paper. I haven't looked too closely at other teams' rotations, but 9th seems way too high. I would have guessed we'd be 15th at best and maybe 20-24th, at worst. 9th with Giolito seems like a big stretch. Without him, it seems absurd.
  5. Teel and VTek similarities... Shades of Varitek in this Boston prospect WWW.MLB.COM FORT MYERS, Fla. – It’s impossible to avoid ruminating on the parallels. Two former All-ACC first-team catchers. Two 14th overall picks. Two players who reached Double-A in their first tastes of the Minor Leagues. One is just getting his career started with the Red Sox. The other won two World
  6. #10 is higher than #9?
  7. I agree. He would also be projected to be a big plus in 2025 and a plus for 2026 and 2027, if the deal went that long. Don't give a no trade clause, if possible.
  8. I think this is the team we have for opening day: no more significant additions.
  9. I did not realize the opt out was 5 days prior to opening day. Send Bobby Dee to AAA. Maybe try to sneak him through waivers, but I have others above him on my DFA list.
  10. At least signing Bauer would show an effort to win, this year.
  11. Didn’t he sign a minor league deal?
  12. Another perfect post.
  13. You could end up being right. I hope not. I'm still looking forward to watching how several players work out and hopefully do well or better. We have a bunch of players pre-prime or just entering it, so some potential is still alive. It's not easy being optimistic, and I certainly am not expecting a great or even good season, but I think there will be enough good things happening to make watching the games fun enough (for me.) I'm also going to be watching more minor league highlights than ever before. I'm going to try to go to a Sea Dogs game, too, after missing out, last year.
  14. Casas with a spring ding v Yanks. Sox down 3-1.
  15. You can't get there from hee-yah!
  16. Don't forget... The Prophet Isaiah Billy Joely Throwing Fitts Haggard Hagenman Dutch Gambrel

  18. I learned the most English when taking Latin at ND.
  19. With Gio out for the year and Grissom & Mata likely to miss opening day (IL?), this may be the opening day 26 man roster: 1. L Duran CF 2. L Devers 3B 3. R Story SS 4. L Casas 1B 5. 22. I’d rather see us playing well than poorly.
  23. Very few batters master hitting enough bad pitches for hits, but it does happen every now and then. Who knows if Rafaela can do it, but I doubt he changes his free swinging approach.
  24. I’m typing from my phone.
  25. Garrit Cole to get MRI. We are not alone.
