  1. Did you post to the wrong person, again?
  2. No, it's funny that you got my position wrong again.
  3. Yes, we know: suspects are just suspects until they prove they are not, and they never deserve to get a chance to be tested, unless a key injury opens a slot. Got it.
  4. Eventually, a choice will have to be made, as all our starting OF'ers have 2+ years of control, after 2025. We have some serious needs in other areas, so there is some sense to the idea that an OF'er should be traded for a pitcher or 1Bman. I'm not for trading Anthony. (I'm always okay for trading anyone for a better return or an equal one in an area of higher need.) I also want to keep Abreu and Duran. I like Anthony more than Rafaela, but I'm fine with keeping him in CF FT, unless he dipd below .640 or so and seems like he's staying there. Ref may retire, but he's a short-side platoon and would not give Anthony a FT role in 2026. No, there is no rush, but we do have pressing needs and surpluses at some positions.
  5. Just like the ole Sox.We've outscored the O's 27-17, but split the series. We outhit the O's today 10-7 and lost 5-1. Same ole-same ole.
  6. Are you saying trade Anthony or move him to 1B/DH?
  7. Wake was another one of my faves.
  8. Woo won a pen games as Criswell was the opener (2 IP 0 ER) Anthony, Noda & Hickey had 2 hits in the 3-1 win. POR lost 5-4, as they allowed 4 in the 9th. Ehrhard, Jordan & Castro had 2 hits. GRE lost 5-0 as Valera let up 2 ERs in 3.1. Arias & Brannon had 2 hits. SAL lost 7-3, as Aita let up 10 hits and 4ER in 6. Gonzales, Encarnacion & Salazar had 2 hits.
  9. Don't scare me like this!
  10. Exactly! Noda shows just how urgent things are and the extent a team can go to try and fix an issue. The winter was the time to make sure we were set at 1B for depth, especially after we dealt away Gaspar and Meidroth. They could have also asked Devers about 1B way back when he was complaining about not being on the field while DH'ing.
  11. Agreed, and I always felt Pivetta as underappreciated by Sox fans. He was our 4/5 starter who often pitched as well or better than many teams' #3 or even #2 guy.
  12. I think Mayer will be fine, but we need Bregman back as soon as possible. I hope it's just 10-15 days,, and when he gets back, Mayer has earned his stay.
  13. We really have not been able to get one of our many mediocre type or semi-promising pen depth guys to earn a slot on the staff.
  14. I hear you, and not that these guys have been babied for so long, suddenly asking them to pitch 110 pitches in a game and 190+ IP would likely make their arm fall off.
  15. We kinda got lucky with Dom Smith, last year. The Garrett Coopers are more like norm for May additions.
  16. Unless Mayer is already holding down a FT infield slot, and Story or Campbell have gotten hurt or sucked so badly, they lose their job, I would not move Rafaela out of CF and into the IF.
  17. I don't disagree. I will say, we do have an extra pitcher for the DBLHDR. 77 pitches is not a lot for a young pitcher, but he's only pitched over 72 innings, twice in his career, and never over 126 IP. At this rate, he may end up with 150, so maybe some caution is not a wild concept.
  18. We traded for a 1Bman and have KC working out at 1B. It may be little, but it's not none.
  19. A few people could dislodge Casas from his role as the worst defensive China doll, 1Bman in MLB
  20. Jh Garcia is off to a nice start with Woo. 3-4 in first game, today. He's nearing a 1.400 OPS! He's 1-2, so far in game 2. (Anthony homered in game 2.) Uberstine pitched well in the 2-1 win in the 7 innings game 1.
  21. After tonight's game, we'll be 1/3 through the season and at .500 or +2. Here are the WAR numbers (before today's game) fWAR Player bWAR 2.5 Bregman (going on the IL) 3.0 bWAR 2.1 Devers (not easy for a DH only) 2.3 1.9 Crochet (the savior?) 2.21.7 Narvaez (steal of the winter?) 1.9 1.2 Abreu (slowed a bit) 1.8 1.1 Rafaela (tremendous D) 1.8 0.9 Duran (probably over 1.0, after today) 1.0 0.7 Newcomb (Hmm...) -0.2 0.6 Dobbins 0.4 0.5 Chapman 0.9 0.5 Slaten 0.0 0.5 Refsnyder (unreal for 54 PAs) 0.6 0.4 Whitlock & Wilson 0.3 Buehler & Weissert 0.2 Fitta, Bernardino, KC & Romy 0.1 DHam, Kelly, Wink, Liam, Bello & Gio
  22. Thanks to the O's, we are back over .500 and 1 back in the way too early WC race. Gotta keep it rolling, here. GO SOX!
  23. The obvious choice is DH, but we have one firmly entrenched there and apparently not willing to budge. Another option could be to move the best defensive CF'er in MLB to middle infield, but that seems drastic.
