  1. 60 Day IL: Houck (Sept/ 2027?) Casas (June/July?) Romy (June?) Oviedo (June/July?) Sandoval (imaging showed nothing) ______________________ 10-15 Day IL Gray (coming off tomorrow) Crochet (mid May?) Crawford (may go 60- June at earliest) Slaten (started rehab & will pitch again May 6 or 7th) Coulombe (May 17th is the earliest he can return) ___________________________ Anthony is flying back to BOS to visit hand specialist. Suarez has not ruled out making his next start.
  2. The way our offense is doing, it might be sooner rather than later.
  3. Facing a lefty, so I wonder if there will be a change to the line-up.
  4. Sonny better be sunny!
  5. Weird that they mentioned DHam doing better with MIL, and he is not, and should have mentioned Grissom, instead.
  6. I do think he disrespected Bregman by doubting the Cubs offer was even there. I'm not sure it was because he was a hitter.
  7. I think he wanted Bregman and felt he was a big enough bat to fill our needs. (I didn't.) When that deal fell through, there really wasn't much left, so he pivoted to pitching. I'm not sure he respected pitching more than hitting. Suarez was not his first choice.
  8. Indeed. Anthony, Duran, Story & Durbin have fallen way short of expectations, but only 2 (Contreras & Abreu plus maybe Rafaela) have met expectations. Couple this with so many injured and underperforming pitchers and it's no wonder we have sucked.
  9. True, but overall the players ages 22-26, who should be progressing/improving have, as a whole, not done so.
  10. I'd rather have Pena than Story, but I don't see a match. Paredes is good, too. One major aspect would be how much money HOU would be trying to gut. I doubt they'd take Story and prospects for Pena & Javier (a salary dump that cuts into Story's cost.) Why would HOU take Story, Yoshida and a bunch of good prospects for Pena, Paredes, Javier and Hader? I doubt JH takes on that much salary, too. I don't see a fit.
  11. Word down here in Houston is that a firesale may be brewing. The team is 14-22 and would be 9-21 had they not played the Sox 6 times. Yordan will not be traded, but he's only owed $27M x 3 (to age 32.) Javier makes $21M x 2 and would be a salary dump (Yoshida? Story?) Hader gets $19M x 3 but can't stay on the mound. Imai makes $18M x 3. Pena make $9.5M and has one arb left. Paredes gets $9.4M with an option for 2027. Yainer Diaz has 2 arbs left. Hunter Brown has 2 arbs left but is likely untouchable. RP'ers King (pre-arb) and Sousa (3 arbs) have been hurt.
  12. Whitlock may end up on the IL, at some point. Yes, no way Chapman could repeat 2025, but he has been okay.
  13. I think this is true, and our offense was about the same pre and post Devers in 2025. I think they also expected upticks from Abreu, Rafaela and maybe Mayer, Wong and others as they neared prime years.
  14. As bad as things look, the AL is in pretty poor shape, these days. A team as bad as we are is just 2 games from the middle of the pack (mid 5 teams) and 3.5 games from being a top 5 AL team by record. More interesting is the fact that 3 of those top 5 teams are the Rays, Athletics and Guardians. Hell the CWS are 6th best!
  15. Whitlock has not looked the same. Chapman, too. Nobody looks ready to step up and take up some slack in the pen. We've already run out of starters that might have been able to help. Pitching was supposed to be the strength that carried the worsened offense and then some. With half the staff on the IL, there is little hope for a near term winning stretch, and even treading water for at least a week or two seems too difficult.
  16. Durbin has been horrific, and I'm not sure that's even a strong enough word. I think the idea was that Contreras would do better than Toro, Lowe & Co at 1B to make up for the drop off from 2/3 of a Bregman season to a full Durbin season. Maybe they forgot about the loss of Devers.
  17. If you post where we're ranked, it means the other teams matter.
  18. I'd like to say, "Learn your lesson well," but we all know this winter will bring the next one.
  19. It looked like another loss all along, then some imposter team showed up for the 7th inning.

  21. I have no idea who is better, but... OPS Against with WOO: .945 Gamboa (15K-5BB in 13 IP) .511 Guerrero (13K-4BB in 12 IP) .636 Kahnle (8K-4BB in 9.1 IP)
