  1. I still think Whitlock is a top 30 RP'er in MLB, and that includes 30 closers and other top set-up men. Barnes was great for a short time and pretty good the rest of the time, before his collapse. I see no reason to think Whitlock is about to collapse.
  2. Lots of taters. Not many good pitching lines. Arias 2-4 (at 1.000, now) Cespedes 3-5 (1.278) Gonzales 3-5 (.900) King 1-3 1.270 Fermin 1-2 (2.800)
  3. He ended the 2025 season with 13 scoreless games (14.1 IP, 10 H, 3BB & 19 BB) What evidence leads you to think he's on the way to Barnes Road?
  4. Would you have been happy had we extended him to $27M x 6? He has a 103 OPS+ since he left, and those were the best (3) years of the contract.
  5. That only works if he stay up late.
  6. It was still Duran's fault. Duran should have been the DH. Just him standing in LF made Rafaela nervous and needing to shade towards LF.
  7. Chapman & Whitlock have gone 6 IP with 0 ERs allowed. (2 Hits & 3 BB) Slaten also has not allowed a run in 2.1 IP (1Hit & 2BB) 1.69 Early 3.27 Crochet 4.50 Gray
  8. We still K's 8 times to 1 walk. 9 hits is not great, either, but a win is a win. Gray looked very good, and we'll need more like this from him over the season. It's still a bit scary to see just 3 batters in the line-up above .671. 1.214 Abreu 1.015 Mayer .834 Narvaez (with Wong at 1.300 in 10 PAs)
  9. Let's hope Mayer can keep this up. Nice poke by Willson, too. Mr RBI, Ceddanne kept it up. Even Durbin got a key hit.
  10. That was a nice win. If it wasn't for Ceddanne losing that ball in the sun, we might have seen a shut out.
  11. There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town Takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down
  12. The thing is, we are farther away than we appear in the mirror.
  13. Here is the distribution of top prospects by level: Top 13 (4.5 to 5.5) 2 BOS: Early (3) and Uberstine (13) 3 WOO : Tolle (1) Bennett (10) Romero (12) 1 POR: Arias (2) 6 GRE: Witherspoon (4) Valera (5) Eyanson (6) Phillips (7) Gonzales (8) Godbout (11) 0 SAL 1 FCL: Soto (9) ____________________ 14 to 30 (all 4.0's) 1 BOS: Watson (30) 3 WOO: Castro (16) Samaniego (19) Bastardo (21) 6 POR: Holobetz (14) Wehunt (20) Taylor (22) Mullins (24) Monegro (25) Ziehl (28) -Maybe Paez is added here. 1 GRE: G Rodriguez 1 SAL: Azocar (15) 3 FCL: Ramos (17) Rivas (18) Delzin (23) 2 DSL: Silverio (26) Brito (27) ___________________________ Top 30 (4 to 5.5) 3 BOS 6 WOO 7 POR 7 GRE 1 SAL 4 FCL 2 DSL ________________________ 31-60 0 BOS 2 WOO (Ward & Song) 3 POR (Rivera, Alcantara & Rogers) 7 GRE (Cespedes, White, Jackson, Guzman, Ingrassia, YRod, Ehrlicher) 8 SAL (Heyman, Finley, Morgan, Neely, Nunez, Foutch, Patton, Brown) 9 FCL/DSL (Primera, Cason, Wu-Yelland, Martin, Bravo, Garcia, Ogando, Brannon, McShane) __________________ Top 60 3 BOS 8 WOO 10 POR 14 GRE 9 SAL 15 FCL/DSL The only thing that kinda jumps out at me is that Salem has just one top 30 prospect and 3 in the top 43. GRE looks loaded.
  14. Oviedo to 15 Day IL with right elbow strain. Yikes! He joins Crawford & Sandoval, already on the IL. Whitlock is on paternity leave. Casas has a new injury issue. Uberstine was added to the 26.
  15. 1. Anthony DH- Let's put the better OF'er at DH. 2. Story SS- Let's keep the new "team leader" batting 2nd. 3. Duran LF- Inferior on defense to Roman. 4. Contreras 1B- The 4th batter in a row under .685. 5. Abreu RF- The only guy pulling his weight. 6. Durbin 3B- God-awful start to '26. 7. Mayer 2B- Needs to show he belongs. 8. Narvaez C- Back after being benched. 9. Rafaela CF- Mr. RBI needs some more.
  16. While baseball is my favorite sport, I was best at basketball- for whatever that is worth. It is really not the same game, anymore, and it's not just the 3 pointer aspect. Travelling, the "eurostep," jump stops and on and on...
  17. What would be the answer to the answer man? -Garcia/Lesh/Hunter
  18. They did end up making reactionary changes to address the "wearing down" issue by expanding the roster size. Also, teams used to keep 10, 11 or 12 pitchers on their 25 man roster- now everyone keeps 13 on their 26. They have specialized "long men," 6th, u7th and 8th inning guys, and of course almost everyone uses a one inning closer. Yes, someone made a choice to try and maximize pitcher's skillsets by pushing them towards "not saving themselves" for a long game. It makes sense, beyond the machinery analogy. Yes, it has led to more injuries- not less, and that might hint at the fact that this wasn't done to prolong pitchers' careers. I remember that A's team, where almost all the starters went way longer than anyone else in MLB, and most of those pitchers didn't last very long either. Good post. Thanks.
  19. Woo rained out. GRE scored 5 in the 11th to get the win. Valero: 7 Ks in 3.1 (2H, 2 ER, 2BB) Encarnacion with a 3-run dinger. Gonzales 0-5 w 3 Ks SAL won 5-4 as Dylan Brown went 6 scoreless (2 H, 0 BB, 6K) Nunez & King each with 2 hits.
  20. After looking over the new rankings, I think my top 25 might be... 1. Early 2. Tolle 3. Arias 4. Witherspoon 5. Valera 6. Gonzales 7. Phillips 8. Eyanson 9. Soto 10. Godbout 11. Bennett 12. Holobetz 13. Azocar 14. Ramos 15. Rivas 16. Romero 17. Delzine 18. Paez 19. Samaniego 20. Bastardo 21. Uberstine 22. Silverio 23. Brito 24. Ziehl 25. Castro/Watson Sleeper: Jo Garcia
